like if he shot 48% on the season?

oh wait...

it’s on very low volume. it’s pretty meaningless. his FG% for the season is also 36% and he shoots 44% from the line which is pretty atrocious. he still passes up open shots and has been shooting airballs lately. there’s a reason why Thibs doesn’t trust him. if Thibs plays him he has to be ready. no more excuses for him. it’s playoff time, not his rookie year anymore.

Its on low volume because its reflected of his minutes, its not because he just isn't taking them,. You avg 9 mins per game tough to avg a ton of 3's per game. He is 4th on the team in 3 pt attempts per minute. Only IQ Burks, and Bullock take more 3's when they are in the game.

If you look at his per 36 numbers it would be 5.4 attempts per game which would be by far his best number of his career.

His 3PAr also is way above his career avg. His career he's at 38.3%...this year he was over 60% attempt rate from 3.

He's shooting them when he gets time (its the minutes part that he hasn't got)...and he's making them even in the small volume.

Bullock is worth bringing back for sure. He fits right in and has some great chemistry with Randle. Can see him being even better next season, as long as healthy.

The Knicks have gotten used to the obligations over the course of this season, even come to enjoy them. They see a coach who reciprocates the steeliness he requires. “I’m getting a tough, hard-nosed coach,” Bullock said. “I love it. I get giggles out of it to know that I have a head coach that is down to ride for you, and he’s here to play. I have that faith that he’s able to back his players up and just know that he’s giving us that leash to play tough, play physical.”

I think players will want to come play for thibs. He gives you a lot of freedom offensively (look at what Randle/Rose/RJ/IQ/Burks get to do when there in). He doesn't call many plays.

He asks for effort and attention to detail especially defensively then he allows a lot of freedom offensively which I'm sure todays player will love.

Good for recruiting IMO.

I like the idea of throwing different defenders at Young. RJ on Young could be interesting but I wouldn't want to risk foul trouble too much at the same time.

I would sell high on Randle a team won't win with him as a top 2 player on their team Knicks will be better off long term believe me

Agreed, I don't even want Frank to play more than 12-14 minutes...but I want him to hound the sh*t out of Trae for a handful of minutes every game. Put that 7 foot wingspan to use and use some fouls and just get into him.

The bulk minutes still need to go to Rose/Burks/IQ/Bullock/RJ...but just save a few key minutes whether its at the start of the game or end of the qtrs to just give Trae a different look.

whatever this wont go anywhere so I will leave it at this...he would be in there for defensive mainly and he has been taking 3's when he has been put in regardless of what you say. You can't take 8 3's in 9 minutes...

I don't even want him to play more than a couple minutes since we have better options then him and we need to put pressure on Trae defensively as well. But at certain points in the game to give Trae a different look it would be silly not to utilize his strength.

We've been playing 4 on 5 with Payton all year anyway.

If Randle goes off we will win. Simple

Hunter is probably the Hawks second best defensive player behind Capela. Also, Randle had a lousy game after the one week All-Star game layoff. :-?

Yeah we need Randle to come in hot. If we win the first game I feel really good about us winning in 5 or 6.

I’m not too worried about Hunter because he’s coming off an injury, is 30 pounds lighter and hasn’t had to guard Randle all year. Randle shouldn’t have too much trouble

Reports are that Hunter is looking good out on the court in games.

Yea, nobody even wants Frank to take a ton of shots and that is fine.

Just play solid D, move the ball and take an open 3 here and there in a few minutes of action. He can still help the team just playing good defense.

We dont need him to play hero ball.

Yeah I would put Bullock or Burks on Trae before I put RJ...I don't want RJ anywhere picking up quick fouls. Bullock is a vet and probably has a better chance staying away from foul trouble the best.

a lot of the times we play 4 on 5 with Frank on the court cause he’s scared to shoot or he’s throwing up airballs and he can’t create for himself or others. he better be ready. we can’t be giving this guy excuses like he’s still a rookie now. especially in the playoffs. i am glad thibs has been holding him accountable

correct he is 90% percentile in spot up 3's...that is all I want him to do on offense. Leave everything else to Randle/RJ/Rose/Burks/IQ...whoever else is in the game. Just treat him like Noel or Taj. Instead of those guys just getting dunks...frank should only take open 3's. If the Hawks are double and tripling Randle and he finds him in the corner just take the shot...that is all that matters the overall volume doesn't mean anything to me.

He shouldn't be doing anything else on offense if he's in the game. His value in the game would be on the defensive side of the ball to hopefully bother Trae into bad shots or some turnovers and live with the results.
