Another C option off the board

Okay well this is officially getting weird in Utah.

They have John Collins, Kessler, Eubanks and Filipowski all there now.

Kessler has to be on the way out. Make the move Leon! He's the guy!!

Eubanks will barely play, Filipowski is a third stringer, and John Collins is a PF.

Still plenty of room for Kessler to start and play big minutes.

You could think Kessler could be on the way out potentially. Is it the Knicks?

Nope. And screw ever dealing with Ainge.

The problem is IHart is a much better defender

Goga is so bad on defense that he’s basically unplayable in the playoffs

sounds like iHart

Ironically enough when Goga was starting in November/December while WCJ was out for 7 weeks he was the following: +3.3 in defensive EPM (3rd in NBA), 10th in blocks per game and was 4th best among qualified centers in defensive FG differential within 6 feet. Magic also had a 116.2 O-Rating and a 111.7 D-Rating his 20 game stretch of starting

Wouldn’t cost the Knicks anything as he was on a vet minimum with Philly before he tore his meniscus.

How's his character like?

Ya'll have to notice a pattern with the Knicks roster too - all the guys they bring in are very professional, well spoken, and respectful.

The Knicks are building a roster of tough, hard-working professionals. They don't want any moody dudes on the roster.

He got into "trouble" in Clipperland cause he reportedly didn't like how the team was treating PG13 and Kawhi differently and allowing both to them to come and go as they wanted and not playing when they didn't feel like it. He also got into a famous tiff with Giannis that got him a lot of slack from folks that didn't like how he was treating the NBA's "golden child". He's got warts but in the right environment (assuming his head is on straight) he could be a bastard (in a good way).

i rarely watch games outside of the knicks so i have no clue what goga is about. that said his stats looks nice and a lot of people in the know say he would be a decent iHart replacement. we have a need at C so i'm cool with bringing him in. really at this point i'm intrigued by the unknown more than the known.

Utah is also clearly trying to rebuild now so I could see them easily moving him. There have been apparently rumors on his availability too. And even last year Kessler didn't play huge minutes on their team.

That doesn't sound like he is terrible on defense to me....

They actually could have drafted some more centers prospects or twice in the 1st round but chose to go after IHart instead.

 Gonna have to kick OKC behind the two times we play them this year.

Lets see what Plan B looks like which surely they have had it being worked on before they lost iHart

It's amazing how what we could have offered wasn't enough, and he's getting $87m. I wanted him back even though I don't think he's worth the $87M. I had concerns about his D against larger, stronger C's like Embiid, but he was a great part of the offense.

I'm sure the staff will work with whomever they acquire to get him up to speed on team D, but it's a different game starting Mitch.

Utah is definitely a seller and looking to build through the draft. Their timeline is future. Kessler very likely can be had (the price is the question)

The Spurs and Warriors are among the teams showing interest in trading for Lauri Markkanen, per @WindhorstESPN
(https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/brian-windhorst-the-hoop-collective/id293376147?i=1000660772596
).

Rival executives believe there’s a good chance the Jazz actually move Markkanen.

Huh? Most metrics have him as a damn good defender

Pointing to him against Embiid is foolish. Nobody is stopping him he’s a dominant offensive player

he wasn't good in the pacer series either - and that was supposed to be his time to shine

Playing with an injury that affects your movement/explosion played a big role there

The problem with Robinson other than his perpetual injuries is that he is a zero offensively. He doesn’t move the ball and clogs the paint. The Robinson-Randle pairing is a clunky fit and has always been. I don’t think this team with Robinson as center can win a Finals as I did with Hartenstein.

sounds like he is injury prone and can't be relied upon when needed
