Ahh talking about me asking Hezi to meet up to see who’s in shape huh? Dunno how that’s weird… you wanna throw ignorant insults about someone you don’t know, take the invite. People talked about meeting up on here to ball for years, what’s the difference? See me on the court if you wanna talk that ish lol

many different people have done that on here and other internet forums over the years. if you asked me who did it most recently i wouldn't be able to point you or the other guy out of a lineup

Ok, it just happened a week ago n I remember you commenting about it right after so…

Brother I think you're looking at this the wrong way.

I am not sensitive, I've been in the internet a long time and dealt with plenty of trolling, arguing, etc, arguing in bad faith gets very tiring to read after awhile. There's no "winning" an argument with someone who is constantly arguing in bad faith, moviing goal posts and when all else fails, lying about posters whenever they are infact "losing" and argument. It clearly wasn't leading to anything positive on the board, and was causing a ton of long time members to stop posting and cause actual insight to be lost.

There's a difference between being "sensitive" and not wanting to deal with people acting like straight up children just to get a rise out of people.

As far as Melo goes I don't think he's banned permanently but who knows, and he wasn't the only one who would act in the way I'm describing, and if it he is, it's not like it wouldn't be warranted. I'm the only one really speaking in the matter but we all know there's a lot more posters who feel the same way on the issue. And also those who were just tired of it and up and left the board. It's been going on for 3-4, years now, multiple big arguments, etc.

RealGM Knicks is not in a spot where we can afford to allow trolls to take over, create a toxic environment and cause people to leave, and/or cause potential new posters to not want to bother coming here to post. It's unlikely this next generation is going to want to post about Knicks on message boards like this one so to cause the old heads who have been here for a decade or more to not wanna be here is not the move. It boils down to it being immature not being sensitive, the only people who tend to troll to that level that it causes that level of toxicity are people who are immature

I'm done with the victim blaming going on in this thread. Time to reflect on people's actions and the toxicity they created here instead.

i know sensitive sounds like an insulting word and i'm not trying to insult you or anyone else. i just think that a "victim" of melo's rabble rousing is inherently self-made. the only people he ever gets into with are the ones who get genuinely mad at his bait. don't feed the troll as they say. the rest of the people who engage with him are usually clowning him right back in a way that feels ultimately friendly. sham clowns melo, nodope clowns sham, guano erratically oscillates between love and violence, etc. lot of tongue-in-cheek lore stirs the tomfoolery but i assumed we were all in on the joke

nobody on here is a basketball genius, so while i do enjoy talking hoops in greater depth when we do, ultimately i'm here to hang out and have fun with an interesting cast of characters who love the same team as me

I don't wanna keep going with this one this will be the last thing I say on it but I agree that Melos rabble rousing at times were playful, friendly, etc and were fun, even I did it with him at times, but there were also times where he would stop the friendly part of it and just go at others. He never could take what he dished out to others so when they would give it back to him he would end up lying on their name or just going back at them in a non friendly manner.

But I don't really want to single him out either, we're all guilty of it at some point or anoteur whether it was people who saw at opportunity to give back to Melo what they gave to him and started doing their own trolling back or whatever the case is. I think a low level of that is fine but at some point it became the main focus of this board to keep going back and forth at each other and we lost a lot of the actually good debates and discussion. It was all I told you so and crow threads and people not owning up to it, etc. I got caught up in it myself too at times as well so I am far from innocent. I just think that Melo was kinda the spearhead of the whole thing and a lightning rod for the attention while also that being want he seeked.

It was entertaining at times I agree but there were other times were it just grew tiring. Nobody wants to watch the Knicks lose in the ECF and here comes Melo to basically dance of their graves by trolling about KAT or his many other agendas, etc. There were legit times where I wondered if Melo was even a Knicks fan or just some other teams fans who made this whole account just to troll Knicks fans to f with them to be honest.

TLDR: we were all guilty of it at times, but at some point sometimes the friendly Melo/others banter turned unfriendly at times and it crossed the line and caused the board to actually be toxic and unfun to be apart of and read for many posters but to each their own.

I clown meLo more than sham, like I said before, sham is a proper villain. There's no real engagement with sham if it's not basketball, he'll go back and forth with you a little, but you write more than a paragraph, and he's gonna Euro step your post like it's not there. Truly diabolical, and I respect his game. meLo on the other hand will engage in back and forth, and then carry that forward where you can get a glimpse into it actually annoying him because he'll mention it later on, and of course he'll get suspended  The 9 month crashout over Randle while trying to pretend to be unbothered is going to be hard to beat for funniest thing on here.

I enjoy trolling trolls, which is why I go at meLo, he's often stretched thin because prolific trolls have a lot of enemies that they're constantly arguing with, while I have none. So, it's an easy lick, sort of like Omar robbing drug dealers, it's not like they can call the police. My posts seem cold, logical and dry, but I really take nothing on here seriously, it's why I talk like a super villain at times, because it's all jokes, unless I can get someone annoyed for real. Like if I had known NYKmentality was a psycho, I would have made it my entire persona on here to mess with him, culminating with me giving him a fake address to fight me, simply to waste his time driving or taking the train somewhere.

Victim blaming. Heart-wrenching eulogy and martyr speeches  . Wearing homie's dog tags like he got killed in battle  ... how touching.

If you want to keep it real, rock the avatar of one of the many posters who walked away from the board...maybe they'll return.

But if you want to take a walk through the actual graveyard of fallen soldiers, have at it. 438 pages for your macabre viewing pleasure and your boy is NOT on the list...

to be clear though i'm not trying to make a martyr of melo. i'm not one of the people that killed him. i just lament that the forum is now making an intentional shift into a more policed environment because i'm a free spirit type

I've been posting on message boards since the 90s on usenet and AOL. There will ALWAYS be trolls and drama. I just hope this place doesn't become a place where we can't even joke around or poke fun without someone getting offended.

Yeah to me it's crazy that they got banned others I feel have done much worse and are still around. But as we turn a page on the board and hopefully go back to how it used to be, we won't have to worry anymore. But that was one of the things that always felt crazy to me, people like them got banned but others who did more as far as getting into arguments and all that were still unbanned despite many posters reporting them per mod protocol, etc

But ever since the Summer address post this forum has gone back to how it used to be, less agenda crap, more good discussion.

When was this place ever anything but a toxic shtshow with some great conversation sprinkled in?

Stiffbury
Eddy Chubby
Larry Clown
D'Antoni wars
Gallo vs Chandler
Melo wars
Firewood Son
PMFJB vs Hoodwinked
Frankfrooters
Team Villain

If there were ever a time when there wasn't a dumpster fire burning it was always one match away.

Most nuke bans of community members aren't incident driven where you'd remember the incident. It's a culmination.

Those that are incident driven are typically the ones allowed back under a new name with good behavior.

Obi w/ 17pts & 5 3’s in a finals game. +13 in a 1 point game.

He’s played such a huge role for IND as the 1st big off the bench
