Wow, I just finished watching the 18U World select scrimmages #1-9. Bebe's does not go hard after rebounds, has poor instincts for the ball and has trouble snatching rebounds as they bounce of his fingertips.
Bismack on the other hand is a monster.

Out of all the guards prospects I've seen JEnkins and Shumpert both are the most physically ready to play in the NBA.

Magic cancelled a few workouts, they have one pick in the draft, maybe they're looking to get rid of it, its very low, 53, but I wouldn't be against grabbing it...[as a THIRD pic..]
Isnt the rule that 1st round picks are a minimum of 3 million? So a 2nd rounder, 53 at that, should be reasonably "cheap" and easy to acquire
But ehh, who at 53 that might be available could we grab?

On Jenkins...
He's not the flashiest or the most athletic, he's not the tallest or have the most recognized name but what he is is simply a blue collar basketball player. He may not be an All-Star or show up on ESPN highlights or get sneakers named after him but he is a guy that coaches would love to have, other players would love to play with and who will give you everything he has in a no nonsense sort of way when he's on the floor. If you need physical he'll give you that. If you need defense he'll give you that. If you need toughness, someone willing to dive for the ball, to hit and be hit, to scrap, to claw, to do whatever it takes to win he'll give you that. That's probably why he's compared to Vinnie Johnson. While I wouldn't necessarily want the Knicks to take him at 17...absolutely I'd be thrilled if they acquire another pick later on and take him.

2nd round draft pick ? Im taking him 10 out of 10 times. Poor Man;s Gallo in the 2nd round. One thing for sure is , he can definitely get minutes, due to his height 6'10 and being able to shoot lights out ! We need 3 pt shooting , and with his height and shot. IT perfect. buy a 2nd rounder , and bring him over asap. Dont leave him in Europe !

Why havent the knicks brung in Motie for a workout ?
Goal should be move up get Jimmer and get Motie at 17 or 20 range some how.
Jimmer/Motie
Pg/Sg and pf/c
Both are needed.

John (Buffalo)
Jimmer to the Knicks? Everyone is saying Utah but they really need a TRUE PG and Jimmer I think would be better suited as a SG. Thoughts?
Chris Sheridan (2:11 PM)
If they have a choice between Jimmer and Vucevic, the 7-footer from Montenegro and Southern Cal who was in two days ago, I imagine they would go for the big guy because of the void they have at that position.
Michael (CT)
Will the Knicks be drafting Chris Paul trade bait, or supporting cast material? Are there prospects out there at 17 that can be both?
Chris Sheridan (2:17 PM)
There is a school of thought that whoever the Knicks pick at No. 17 will be shipped to New Orleans in February along with C.Billups for C.Paul, but again I would caution that there is NO WAY the league office is going to sign off on a trade of Paul as long as the league office continues to own that team. That being said, the 17 pick is going to be one of the few tradeable assets the Knicks have on their roster next season aside from Chauncey, an the possibility of being dealt is going to shadow that player (unless it is a center) throughout the season the same way it did for Derrick Favors in New Jersey.
Julie (Manhattan)
Who are the Knicks most likely to draft? Can't believe all these Mock drafts. Will Vucevic still be there and would they take him with Jordan onboard or will the so for the next Wilson Chandler in Singleton?
Chris Sheridan (2:25 PM)
Vucevic is my flavor of the week, but a lot will be determined by what transpired at the adidas Eurocamp in Treviso this weekend. Lucas Noguiera of Brazil will be participating, and there are a lot of tams that want to kick the tires on this kid. But the thing with Vucevic is he is almost identical to Kanter in terms of measurements, and he has a three-year body of Pac-10 work on which he can be judged, wheras Kanter is more of an unknown commodity because he really hasn't played in two years.
Rich (ny)
Could the knicks take faried with the 17 pick. i think he would be perfect for them, then maybe buy a pick and get charles jenkins
Chris Sheridan (2:29 PM)
Taking a pure 4 makes little sense because the guy will be will be suck behind Amare Stoudemire for four years (see Anthony Randolph). As productive as Faried is, he wouldn't fit in their rotation.
Ronnie (Canarsie, Brooklyn)
If the Knicks need size, is Jeremy Tyler an option?
Chris Sheridan (2:32 PM)
I heard they were not all that impressed with his workout. Another big they are looking at today is Keith Benson of Oakland (Mich.), and he is the type of guy they may try to land with a purchased second-round pick.
Chris (Midtown Manhattan)
Is Selby someone that the Knicks are still considering? It isn't often that you get a player with so much upside at 17.
Chris Sheridan (2:44 PM)
Chad Ford still has the Knicks taking Selby at No. 17 in his Mock Draft 4.0. I am curious to see whether Chad shifts to one of the EuroBigs in Mock 5.0 when he gets back from Italy. To me, Selby gives them a third point at a position where they are already OK with C.Billups and T.Douglas. Their other needs (size, shooting) are too acute for them to draft a third point, IMHO.
I don't know about that though- I don't think there's any way they take Vucevic over Jimmer if they're both on the board. He makes a good point about how the pick should possibly be one that would be considered a desirable trade asset (so no out of left field no names). Also makes sense about Billups and Toney, but Selby's about the same height as Eric Gordon (6'3 in shoes), so maybe he could be a short SG. So sounds like C or SG with Tyler out of the mix.

You are right Falstaff in that Its strange how Nikola isnt being linked to us more considering the black hole we have at center. Im not gonna lie I actually forgot about him lately with all the guard hype thats been going on, and Im one of his bigger fans. Maybe we're actually trying to successfully smokescreen for once
Not only is Vucevic the biggest dude in the draft, but he actually fits Dantoni. He may be a little unathletic (although thats been getting exaggerated I think) but like Marc Gasol he doesnt play soft. Hes got some spunk, and will push guys around a little bit. He has a legit NBA body that doesnt need more weight or anything. Solid in the skill department. Might be able to hit NBA threes soon. He should be able to step in for us and play from the get go. I think he is better than Jerome Jordan right now.

Some say Okur, but I see more Big Z in his (Nikola's) Game.

He makes a lot of sense for us. Which probably means it won't happen, because the result of the draft is always odd in some way. Maybe he'll end up getting taken before 17. He is one of the few interesting centers in the draft after all. Oh well, if that happens someone else will fall.

Eric Gordon has a 6'9 wingspan. Selby only has a 6'5 wingspan. Thats the reason why EJ is able to play SG. Similar to Dwayne Wade who has a 6'10 wingspan. Selby would be a little undersized as a SG, but he might be able to pull it off since hes strong, athletic, a good shooter, and a solid defender. But he would def struggle against the bigger SGs.

Sheeet Ill gladly take either guy. I think many are sleeping on Vucevic. Like our boy Sheridan says whats really the difference between him and Kanter? Kanter had a slightly better vertical, but Vucevic has a 3 inch wingspan/standing reach advantage. They have similar play styles as far as I can tell. Kanter just has more mystique about him.
Im tellin ya this draft is such a crapshoot. I need to change my undies.

Haha did he really call him Nikola Vujacic. Vucevic did seem to have the goods and I know it's not everything but I just can't get over his slow speed times and his vert. That draft list seems to be mainly his opinionated guess though. Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world however; would fill a need for sure.

I'd be fine with a big slow dude in the middle who puts a body on people and has some offensive skills. In videos he actually looks fairly mobile though.

I'd be dissapointed if we took Vucevic with Brooks, Thompson, Selby, Motie, or even DMorris on the board..i like him, but not at 17, lets get the most value for our pick

I'd pick Thompson over him. I don't know whether I'd pick Motie or him. But Selby or Morris I would prefer Vucevic.

yeah he doesn't seem that slow. that 25" vert was kind of surprising (in a bad way). not really high on my list, but would probably take him over guys like jenkins or faried.

Vucevic is a safe pick that I'm totally uninterested in. I'm swinging for the fences, not looking to sacrifice bunt. This dude is nothing more than a Rasho Nesterovic type...*if* he's lucky.
