“@RonE_Coleman7: @alanhahn How Does Amare look? Any better yet?” put in extra work postpractice. Seems to be looking to shed weight -- Alan Hahn (@alanhahn)
Both Amare and DAntoni spoke with confidence that Amare will get his pop back. Expecting a strong 2nd Half from him. #Knicks -- Alan Hahn (@alanhahn)

Poor guy, he couldn't do court work as much as he wanted to, so he unfortunately got saddled with 20 lbs of lean muscle mass. I hate when that happens.

I guess he could just get fat. And do nothing to stay in any kind of shape.

Amar'e did look a little heavier to start the season, but not out of shape, the guy is in great shape. Whether the weight gain was him intending to play center or it's a result of him recovering from the back injury and not able to do all his typical workout stuff I don't know but it hasn't helped his game at all.
It could even be that it's just what happens when you get older, it's not unusual for someone to gain a little weight around the age of 30. He'll need to alter his diet and do extra cardio to be able to trim that off as opposed to resistance training to turn it to muscle which would keep the weight there.

Then why would they be "aggressively" pursing Monta?
He's in a massive shooting slump as well, certainly not the player to try to keep Howard in Orlando.

They are trying to keep monta in addition to Howard while amare would be included in a deal for Howard. You're comparing apples and oranges.

Goddamnit smh..I mean even though I said we were strong favorites, from the Magic side I doubt we were even a mild consideration.
If the Magic really think this, I fear what other teams around the league think of Amare's trade valueThugger HBC wrote:Then why would they be "aggressively" pursing Monta?

1. Monta doesn't have bum knees compared to Amar'e & even though he's been in a shooting slump he's still averaging 22 points & 6 assists per game (5.8)
2. Dwight would love to play with Monta that's why they're trying to get him now. The same goes for Dwight wanting to play with Steve Nash.
Thugger HBC wrote:This is just Broussard throwing stuff at the wind. The Magic wanted Bynum.
And as far as Monta goes, the guy is taking close to 20 shots to get those points, and is shooting below 30% on threes.
Dwight has those types of players on his team now.
Comparing Monta to Nash is not a good comparison at all.

The thing though is even if Broussard is just talking out of his ass it's uncomfortable to think what we can get for Amar'e, if anything. Hopefully we're still in this Dwight trade chase so that we can either acquire him or make the Nyets have to throw in more pieces.
As far as the Magic wanting Bynum goes, even though Bynum has worse knees his numbers don't lie this season. I'm pretty sure the Lakers right now are contemplating if they even want to trade Bynum anymore.
And I know how poorly Monta has been this season but Dwight wants to play with him. This has been known since about maybe last season I think. And I'm not comparing the two, a report came out the other day that Dwight wants to play with Steve Nash, that's why I said that.
