I'm telling everybody who will listen that Lin is legit. He will not disappoint. Think of how maturely this guy plays ... at 23. And the things he has to work on -- his jumper, changing pace as Kidd said -- easiest things to improve on.

The problem I'm seeing is that what motivation will teams have to take on more salary when they can just leave us in lux tax hell and make extra money for free that way.

Just comes down to $1M per team though. And if they all freeze you out so that you get the tax money, that's collusive and wouldn't be legal.

So on the idea that SOMEONE will take these guys -- and you can't all collude to not take these guys -- you can get teams to bite.

Or is the luxury tax more like $80M? I haven't seen a real read on that.

Dolan has written these big checks before. I doubt he's losing money.

I'm already enjoying watching Tyson and Melo struggle on Team USA. Rooting against this team will be a piece of cake.

He's starting his bender... how much Johhny Walker and cocaine and how many hookers he does tonight will obviously affect his sobriety level tomorrow - which I think will be the key component in whether you guys match or not.

Will Dolan be conscious enough to do the deal?

We had this problem in Denver with Pat Bowlen.

Even more reason to match the offer and screw Houston over.

Let be ask you CBA heads a question

What if we traded Lin in December of Year 3 of his Contract

Would the Knicks still have to pay 14.8 Million X 2.5 of the Lux Tax or just a pro rated amount?

A good read on why Lin is a much better fit for this team than Felton.

I believe it goes by the END of the year payroll, so it wouldn't even be prorated - it just wouldn't exist.

Knicks have to trade that to someone under the cap to not get back equal trade. Whoever helps Knicks out like that is basically going to have to pay Lin that money and forfeit the luxury tax money that Knicks would be paying. It's not that easy of a deal. That's a lot of money.

definitely is do able tho. If joe johnsons contract is tradeable at this point in his career then we should be able to find a taker for a lin before his prime. Hard to imagine he won't put up at least average point guard numbers.
Unless he pulls a landry fields and severely regresses he'll hold his value. I doubt he'll regress since landrys game was dependant on other setting him up and a specific structured offense. Lin has shown he can create his own shot, create for others and has pretty good defense despite.

Anyone else want to create a "to slap" list? Not punch, slap -- left with less dignity.

They'll reconsider their stand & do what's right which is bring Lin back. They have to be aware how much of a public relations hit it would be if Lin goes to Houston & becomes an all-star level pg...

Hopefully Woodson will stomp out issues but I do feel like he is aligned with JR.

Who cares about JR. He'll probably continue to suck and be off this team in a few months.

My dad just came home & told me he heard on the radio that the knicks submitted a complaint to the league office saying that a player cannot sign two offer sheets at once, and this radio station claims that he signed the Rockets' first sheet secretly & then went and signed the larger one once it was presented to him.

I trust my dad's word & I believe him when he says he heard it but this is probably false and the station just wants more hits. It's really nothing but I decided I'd say it on here since there hasn't been anything mentioned ANYWHERE about it (to my knowledge).

But imagine if that was true, man.
