Beal doesn’t do it for me. I’d rather take a chance on RJ developing into a better player and keep Knox, DSJr & whatever else we’d have to offer.
AD is the only player worth trading for this summer (I assume Harden isn’t actually up for grabs).

Harden, Klay, Oladipo, CJ McCollum.....eh...maybe 5? Slotted just above Jrue Holiday, Devin Booker, DeMar & Khris Middleton. If we classify Jimmy Butler as a SG, then Beal drops out top 5.

Harden...and MAYBE Klay when he gets hot (when he gets hot, no one in the league gets hotter). None of those other guys are better than Beal, don't let the Wizards' garbage fool you

You're underrating him. He's a good, strong defender, great shooter, good creator. Klay is better. Dipo probably better too, okay. That ranks him third. DeRozan, Booker, CJ are only better on offense, if at all. Harden and Holiday are point guards and I'm not sure Jrue is a better player overall. Middleton and Butler are SFs. I'd rate Jimmy higher than Beal, Middleton I wouldn't. He's clearly top 5 only clearly trailing dipo and Klay. So what's the point in all that? Those are all incredible players we're talking about and you still wouldn't deal Knox and a pick for him? I would.

If we miraculously get KD and Kawhi, you don't need AD. Instead, you load up on strong 2-way role players and a depth on the bench. At the deadline, you "steal" some disgruntled veterans like Toronto did with Marc Gasol, to help push you over the top.

That’s a horrible thought process. Why would anybody give the Celtics any package close to that Tatum type deal at the trade deadline knowing it didn’t work out for the Celtics? All teams would lowball and Celtics would have to take a bad offer or lose AD (&Tatum at that point) for nothing. For what? To screw with other teams? Other teams who would have fall back plans? The things is this tatum doesn't care about getting traded he already said number times i will play for anybody it goes with what the pelicans are thinking. Let just say this for example the pelicans do trade ad to boston and trade 3 first round picks in this 2019 draft. What do the pelicans position that they really that answer is small forward darius miller, solmon hill, and kenrich williams nobody scared of those player. Let say the pelicans got the number 14 pick they draft keldon johnson, with 20 pick draft kz okapla, and with the 22 pick the pelicans draft cam johnson. The pelicans add zion, tatum, keldon johnson, kz okpala, and cam johnson the solid group it probably better then what any team give for ad. The pelicans are bascally i got those 4 guys for next 4 years to see if it works out. Another reason that is better out come for the pelicans is griffin are taking these risk instead of taking horrible risk of cry babies players on the lakers, or take giant risk on dsj third team in his third season, a horrible frank nitkinia offensive game, kevin knox is basically rashard lewis type, or mitch robinson who either going be drummond or better version of deandre jordan. I still wouldn’t say no to an AD trade, but I’d also gauge the market on Beal and see how much cheaper I could get him for. I think he’d be an awesome 3rd star, and maybe you preserve Mitchell (who if there’s an AD trade, is absolutely going to be included).

Harden isn’t a PG in my eyes, thus why CP3 was bought in. Harden is only cool to run point in D’antoni’s system.
I’ll give you Jrue.
I’d love to just give up Knox & a pick for him. Just not the 3rd pick, in which the player we take can be better eventually on a cheaper deal and younger.

As mentioned by a few people already, I'd prefer 2 of the max cats and depth. I think you're seeing that it goes a longer way than the 3 player franchises especially if there is any injury concern (KI, and AD in particular).

I think the championship is won with quality depth with smart veterans surrounding max cats/high gravity players. People like Bellineli, Ilyasova, Brook Lopez, Igoudala, Danny Green etc...All who can play with high IQ and stretch the floor.
