At this point, Trump should just shut the hell up and let the others talk. Every day he makes some misstep and talks out of line. Today's mention of July/August sent the stock market spiraling out of control. By the time Dr. Fauchi was able to correct him, the markets had closed. :banghead:

DSJr's coronavirus tweets are more entertaining

I found his tweet about disinfecting chicken nuggets with Purell-infused BBQ sauce to be highly informative

So...is this guy invincible against the virus? :o

I heard that the coronavirus caught a case of Mitchell Robinson and had to be quarantined for two weeks.

So my mom works at a hospital and said they had a patient come in 6 days ago. The man is in his 60's and came in feeling weak, lethargic, and with a fever. On his charts, it stated he was weak and in a confused state, so my mom and her coworkers cared for him not knowing what was going on. The man was treated for 2 days in general population before someone said he was complaining of shortness of breath, but still nothing was done. It wasn't till he literally vomited on one of the workers did one of the doctors say that he should get tested for the Corona. Sure enough, he tested positive yesterday.

The hospital literally had all signs they could need to isolate him and didn't till exposing many others. The workers weren't pulled from work till just yesterday. So who knows how many people that came into contact with him also came into contact with others. The way this virus is being handled is a disgrace on so many levels.

This story just proves how underprepared we've been as a country for this type of global pandemic. We always thought of it like it was a sci-fi movie and not something that could happen in real life. I keep hearing not many hospitals know how to really handle it. Gov. Cuomo was right when he said today we better start preparing for the worse because it's coming.

Another problem we are having is that so many people's only source of information are these propaganda machines they call news. So many people I work with weren't even aware of other situations like Italy is having. They think this will all blow over. Things will definitely get worse before it gets better.

The media sources that promote Trump promote the anti-science ethos which goes hand in hand with the fake news theme. They invent their reality and deny the existence of anything else.

It is a cult reality distortion bubble on a massive scale. And at the top of that hierarchy sits Trump who must be pleased at all turns. Facts that anger Trump get distorted or thrown out.

All of the above describes how you create the infrastructure for fascist rule which negates truth and science when it doesn't comply with the political whims of our dear leader.

And if that leader turns out to be a dolt who doesn't follow the advice of experts you get USA 2020.

Not sure how people can be so obsessed over a virus when there are greater tragedies like this playing out in the world

Most people can't envision an exponential curve in their head. They see one case or 15 cases. What's the big deal?

Well... those cases were community spread... so they got it from somewhere... and we don't know where... and this thing incubates for two weeks...

But that math isn't something that resonates for most minds. Including, unfortunately, the president.

Even on a linear scale, the expansion of the virus should be obvious

But, as you're pointing out, the general pop may not appreciate the logarhithmic aspect of this outbreak, hence their lack of appreciation for the concept of getting ahead of the curve to prevent that exponential factor

I don't think the majority of people are resistant to this information, but in a void they don't know the truth well enough to plan for this. I understood two weeks ago the wave was about to break on us and I prepped. Our government failed our citizens gravely and many of them are still operating on misguided notions.

Tomorrow is our election here. Polls open at 7 a.m. I'm arriving at 6:30 am and will be one of the first people there probably. Get in and out. Will be wearing gloves and have sanitizer. After that, I'm not interacting with anyone for a while

The first case in Oregon SHOOK me. Close to home, yes. But they had no contact with anyone that had been to China. The next two here were out in the sticks. Anyone I'd bother to talk to about it first shrugged it off and their eyes got wider and wider as I explained what was about to happen in layman's terms.

The 'Os are ok and will be ok. We're a bit under the weather but it's either a different bug with the VERY unlikely possibility of a mild case. My work still expects me to show up tomorrow. WTF.

How're y'all???
