You misunderstood my question... I'm saying AEdwards has been compared to DMitch.... if so, we'd be trading for a player like DMitchell. So, if he turns out to be DMitch - would it be a trade you'd make? #2 (Edwards) & Wiggins for #8. Assuming Edwards transforms into DMitch.

I'm sorry but someone who doesn't show up for a job interview prepared, shouldn't be considered an option. You have no school, no work and you show up to a showcase out of shape, zero conditioning, and missing a bunch of shots? Maxey looked like what Edwards should have looked like. I'm sorry but lazy just wont cut it in NYC. We've seen this before and it never ends pretty. You can have all the talent in the world but if you have cobwebs in between your ears then you just wont cut as a successful NBA professional. I don't care how young he is. Kira is just as young and his stock skyrocketed because he took it seriously and put in the work. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up being a bust. Even Lamelo who I dont even like showed better work ethic than this kid.

Fair enough and I get what you're saying - Totally! My point is that... IF (I know how big IF is) Edwards turns out to be the 2nd coming of Donovan Mitchell - then taking on Wiggins' salary would be money well spent imo. To your point, he could be a flop as well. But if he does turn out to be an all-star, we may again be kicking ourselves for not taking on Wiggins' salary.

And then if he doesn't turn out to be an all-star because of his lack of heart, then we would have 2 versions of Wiggins on the same team, one on a rookie contract and one on a max deal

With all this temptation floating around, I am glad that Isiah Thomas is no longer running the Knicks.

Donovan Mitchell is 216 pounds at 24 years of age. Anthony Edwards is 225 and an inch taller. It would be Mitchell on steroids. Now that's not saying he will be DMitch, people worried whats between Edwards ears, but you hired Thibs and development staff so if you believe they are that good. You prove it and trade for Edwards. I would even trade RJ for Edwards. People don't want to face it RJ is good but he's at best a 2nd or 3rd option. We need players with the potential to be all stars.

Lol --- agree with you though. If the asking price is taking on Wiggins salary to be able to switch picks -- I just don't see how you can say no with such ease. To your point, trust your guys to develop this kid... now, I wouldn't personally trade RJ because I like the differences that they bring together. This could be our YOUNG 1-2 punch we've been dying for, FOR SO LONG. I think both RJ & Ant will be 20+ scorers Add in a defensive minded guard (enter Frank) and a defensive minded C (enter Mitch) and you could possibly have one helluva foundation.

He looks like a Thib kind of player.

If the objective is to draft someone like him, its better to trade down.

You brought up the Mitchell comparisons, but you're the first person I've seen make that comparison.

Nah, the comparison I've heard most with Edwards is Wiggins. And even Thibs couldn't work magic with that kid.

I absolutley agree with you. I also think RJ's work ethic will be great for Edwards. Just not sure how we pull that off just for Wiggins. Was listening to either Knicks Film School or Locked on Knicks and they were saying Thibs still spoke with Wiggins even after Thibs left. I actually don't think 3 years if I am correct of Wiggins would be the worst thing. He's not awful, just hasn't reached his potential, which he still has time to do.

He also hired some really smart analytics people. If you are looking for the big name to draw in other free agents Westbrook is not your guy. No one wants to play with him because he is inefficient and a cry baby.

Excuse me but did he move around the same way DMitch did during his workouts? If memory serves me, DMitch was a beast during workouts. I don't give a damn if you are jacked and taller when your slower and running out of breath on you own while being shown up by a kid that's going to be picked in the mid to back end of the draft. I trust my eyes more than just numbers. The guy doesnt have it in him. You WANT him to be that but he didn't show out in Georgia and his didnt show out in his show case. All he did was jack up shots to pad his stats. For a top three pick he has horrible efficiency. You are what you repeatedly do.

Westbrook had serious frustration and difficulty dealing with the media in OKC. In NYC it would be a disaster. Hopefully its a hard pass.
