Yea that doesnt seem accurate especially in this draft

I feel like that gets said about a lot of drafts.

In any draft I dont think a team has ever packaged #19, #21 and #32 to move up to #3.

Right or wrong every draft is different and this one is viewed as top heavy. If not, sign me up for the #3 pick though

yeah obviously there's no precedence but its fun to think about. I also think the knicks have a lot of options were there selecting so I don't think it's too wild an idea.

I saw a rumor that Miami was thinking of offering a Sexton for Herro swap. So if we’re serious about Sexton, you’ll have to either eat Love’s money or offer more draft capitol or throw in IQ. Personally, id rather just eat that money than lose IQ.

I would just throw in Obi along with Knox and our picks this year. See if they bite

I’d be open to giving them all 3 picks If we don’t have to take love on. If we need to take love on, I’d try to at least hold onto one of the firsts

If we took on Love, can we buy him out and he can be off our books for 2022 FA? I am a noob when it comes to buy outs and contracts so not sure how it works lol

I’m not a cap person either but I think we’d have to stretch him like we did Noah cuz buy out money would still count against the cap. I think you can negotiate down with the player but they rarely do for obvious reasons.

No

We could use the stretch provision on him, which would save us around 20 mil in 2022, but we'd be paying him 10 mil a year until 2025.

Is Love really even an NBA 4 anymore?

At this point, I'd say he's a stretch 5.

I still think Cleveland would want a pick for Sexton; it would likely cost the Knicks 19 or 21 even with Love.

Love could take Taj's and Noel's spot.

Sexton/Rose
?/IQ
RJ/Vildoza
Randle/Obi
Mitch/Love

Still short a starting SF or SG, depending on what you call RJ. Can't see starting IQ and Sexton together. Nor Vildoza. Nor Rose and Sexton.

I like it. Great value Jokic as back up 5

It's a lot of money for 20 mpg, but it's in the context of getting Sexton for cheap/guaranteeing the Knicks get Sexton instead of some other team - again, hinges on IF Knicks/you think Sexton is the guy at PG for the next 5 years.

Melo posted some interesting stats how Sexton had a pretty historical scoring year and he seems like he's about to take off. Obviously some of that is the NBA drafts guys younger than ever, so there's a lost of "X player before the age of X to do X" stuff. Also, there's a bit of "decent player gets more shots on not so great team" to consider, but again, NBA scouts are looking at more than stats.

Back to Love. I think he'd stretch the floor when he plays 5. Obviously based on quicks/leaping/height, it's giving up something on defense. But that's what Mitch is for. And Love isn't the biggest for a 5, but 4's now are generally 3's anyway; not sure Love could adequately guard today's NBA stretch 4's. I mean, even young Love wouldn't be ideal today, and now he's old Love.

I'd like them each to grow 3 inches.

Dejounte is already like 6’5 or 6’6

Green font?

He's like 5'10". My height.

I think they would want more then just us to take back Love. A lot of these deals are probably too good to be true. They will probably want something like #19 + future pick, + Obi for Love + Sexton....or they will ask for Quickley

Anything that should happen this offseason should be to take a step forward. No sideways or backwards moves. Swing for the fences for a star or add on to the core with better players who fit the system. Don't trade promising young guys for other young guys in the same spot or trade for draft picks that haven't proven anything. Keep building upward.

I'd trade those picks for the 3rd overall pick in a second.

But no team with a #3 would do that trade.

nbanonsense.com?

Lowry is my guy. Forget everyone else. Grab him and keep on truckin' through phase 2 of our team development (last year was phase 1 -> ie get relevant; phase 2 is -> get good)
