ANNOUNCEMENT
My thoughts since my last post 15 hours or so ago...
It definitely seems like there will be people in the path of this storm which is only growing in size. In cases like this, obviously BaF takes a back seat. I don't like any of the potential options we are facing now. We can continue on as planned and hope for the best, which means no one planning to bid is effected by the storm, loses power, etc. Unlikely. Or we can delay free agency to a better, safer time for all, but doing so will create other issues. First, me finding 2-3 days in a row where I could devote 18 hours a day to this is pretty unlikely with work schedules and the kids going back to school soon. That would mean we would have a very disjointed FA period with starts and stops and delays which are not conducive to a good or fair process either.
My thought is we begin FA as planned with adjustments to the schedule to try and accommodate people who maybe effected. First off, I will allow anyone to place their initial bid at anytime after 6PM tonight. Considering all winning bids will close at the same time now, timestamps will only be important in the rare occasion that two teams in the same FA tier place the exact same bid on the same player. It is possible but unlikely and in these extreme circumstances its a sacrifice we will make to move forward. So if you are worried about being in the path of the storm tomorrow morning, feel free to place your initial bid anytime after 6PM tonight. Realizing that FA officially opens tomorrow morning at 7:30AM when all first bids are due and I begin to go over all bids.
Second, I believe we should expand the time for bidding tomorrow to allow people extra time in the event life gets in the way. Our new schedule for tomorrow will hopefully help people who can't get access to the site for a time. We will expand the bidding windows from one hour to three hours all day Sunday. Bidding windows will remain a bit longer than originally planned through Monday afternoon when we will drop two hours and eventually back to the one hour window. These elongated windows will hopefully give people the time they need to take care of everything going on and still make their bids while also delaying the earliest signings to give people who do happen to lose power for a time the chance to get online to make a bid on a player they are interested in before they sign somewhere else.

The new schedule will obviously drag out free agency beyond just the two days that are listed above. I will have some time Tuesday also but not all day so I will announce a schedule for the rest of the week on Monday night depending on how far along we actually get.
Of course this isn't ideal, nothing about this FA season has been, but we will try to adjust and make the best of a bad situation. Rules for FA can be found in the announcement on page 17.
Also, this all goes out the window if I happen to lose power sometime over the course of these two days. Hopefully that doesn't happen and everyone makes it out without issue. Most importantly to all, be safe.
