With conditions like that, there is a chance that I lose power. If that happens, the opening of FA will obviously have to be delayed. I assume I am further upstate then a lot of you and it seems like the storm is heading towards the Island so a lot of you look like you'll be hit even worse then me. If anyone feels that they will not be able to get online on Sunday to participate in FA please let me know. We will do everything we can to make sure everyone has a fair opportunity to participate. Everyone please stay safe.

Depending on where it hits I may be without power, so I might have to use ribs or tell you what my max would be for the player(s) I'm targeting or something and maybe the bids can be in increments of $10-$20 or whatever so it's not like a default max.

I know I'm not the most popularGM but if this storm could impact the most important part of our season maybe consideration to delay FA should be taken into account. We have sufficient time prior to the regular season starting however this all depends on Bish work schedule

Whatever the decision is (to soldier on and stick with giving Sunday a shot, or delay free agency to a later date) it needs to be decided swiftly and decisively, as it’s already late Friday night.

I’m guessing by tomorrow morning/afternoon everyone will have voiced their options and bish will make a determination by the afternoon/evening.

I think by tomorrow afternoon we'll know where the hurricane will hit with more certainty or if it weakens. Of course, can still cause power outages but maybe not be as bad for some people.

I don't mind either way if I can give my max bid to bish ahead of time but it depends on how many people will be affected. Getting a gauge on that first might be important.

Its obviously not a convenient time to have a massive storm hit the area. The storm seems to be headed right towards us where I believe a lot of people are located.

Its not ideal to push back FA especially for Bish who schedules this when he is most available.

However saying all that, even if one GM loses power (which is likely) seeing all the reports on the storm I think for an even playing field standpoint I would be more cautious to delay it with how important FA is to the league. The downside is if someone is without power we will never know and then will be screwed.

But we should know more tomorrow on how bad its going to hit so I agree a decision should be made tomorrow at some point as more people weight in.

I am good with any decision; and agree a level playing field is best for the game.

Will bids prior 6AM be accepted? I was thinking about bidding earlier just to avoid the risk to not wake up in time.

Most important thing is everyone stay safe.

I agree with MP that we should be cautious with delaying FA, finding a 48h slot for the commish to do FA is not easy, most teams have already probably prepared their offer sheets for Sunday morning, trades are in work to clear cap space on Sunday, and maybe we can open up for 1 PM of bids being sent in Saturday evening (could still be processed on Sunday) instead of strictly Sunday morning.

I think my biggest need is a backup point guard behind Luka. Maybe even someone good enough to start beside him sometimes. I am not willing to sell low on Killian and/or Tre but some trade or combination of those two should get me a solid starter in my opinion from a team looking at the long game.

Hit me up with offers now or later once some free agents have been signed.

In the event that free agency is delayed and rescheduled, as long as I have power during the storm, I will be open to trade talks. So if you don’t lose power either, feel free to get at me if you see anything that makes sense.

Listening to offers on the following cheap young rotational players.

Anfernee Simons- $15/2 years
Zeke Nnaji- $13/2 years
Terance Mann- $1/1 year

All shot over 40% from 3 last year and young.

Hit me up via PM if interested.

ANNOUNCEMENT

My thoughts since my last post 15 hours or so ago...

It definitely seems like there will be people in the path of this storm which is only growing in size. In cases like this, obviously BaF takes a back seat. I don't like any of the potential options we are facing now. We can continue on as planned and hope for the best, which means no one planning to bid is effected by the storm, loses power, etc. Unlikely. Or we can delay free agency to a better, safer time for all, but doing so will create other issues. First, me finding 2-3 days in a row where I could devote 18 hours a day to this is pretty unlikely with work schedules and the kids going back to school soon. That would mean we would have a very disjointed FA period with starts and stops and delays which are not conducive to a good or fair process either.

My thought is we begin FA as planned with adjustments to the schedule to try and accommodate people who maybe effected. First off, I will allow anyone to place their initial bid at anytime after 6PM tonight. Considering all winning bids will close at the same time now, timestamps will only be important in the rare occasion that two teams in the same FA tier place the exact same bid on the same player. It is possible but unlikely and in these extreme circumstances its a sacrifice we will make to move forward. So if you are worried about being in the path of the storm tomorrow morning, feel free to place your initial bid anytime after 6PM tonight. Realizing that FA officially opens tomorrow morning at 7:30AM when all first bids are due and I begin to go over all bids.
Second, I believe we should expand the time for bidding tomorrow to allow people extra time in the event life gets in the way. Our new schedule for tomorrow will hopefully help people who can't get access to the site for a time. We will expand the bidding windows from one hour to three hours all day Sunday. Bidding windows will remain a bit longer than originally planned through Monday afternoon when we will drop two hours and eventually back to the one hour window. These elongated windows will hopefully give people the time they need to take care of everything going on and still make their bids while also delaying the earliest signings to give people who do happen to lose power for a time the chance to get online to make a bid on a player they are interested in before they sign somewhere else.

The new schedule will obviously drag out free agency beyond just the two days that are listed above. I will have some time Tuesday also but not all day so I will announce a schedule for the rest of the week on Monday night depending on how far along we actually get.

Of course this isn't ideal, nothing about this FA season has been, but we will try to adjust and make the best of a bad situation. Rules for FA can be found in the announcement on page 17.

Also, this all goes out the window if I happen to lose power sometime over the course of these two days. Hopefully that doesn't happen and everyone makes it out without issue. Most importantly to all, be safe.
