Yup, even RJ supporters are happy with OG and the trade. Thank you RJ and IQ for being valuable enough to get a player like OG and Leon for making it happen.

You proactively implied that RJ and Randle's contributions were on par, and suggested that we got OG thanks to RJ.

Randle was a much, much better player than RJ for us. And IQ was the centerpiece of the OG trade.

This thread didn't exist when RJ was traded for OG, because we're all good with it and realize OG is better. This thread is to drive home the point that KAT is better than Randle, and we won that trade, let's not lose sight of that.


I'll stop posting here when the white flag is waved on Randle, because it should have been weeks ago, just like it was on RJ for OG.

All of the barbs skated. Rj is buns. Boring as hell to watch hoop and a loser. Always has been and always will be. But none of them admitted it.

I liked and argued for RJ, then I stopped when we got OG, because he's better. My only concerns with OG were health, outside of that I'm good. So good in fact if you go back, you'll see I wanted RJ traded if it meant Randle was traded after, my disdain for Randle's game is that pure. I got what I wanted, which is KAT, so this is a victory lap and I want the focus on Randle where it belongs. Because Randle is why this thread is here.

What I'll never understand is how barbs never saw the similarities to Randle and rj. Rj was basically temu Randle. Their games were so similar. Even down to the selfishness and bad attitude. The fact Leon only had to include SRP in the deal when Toronto was looking for 3 FRPs for OG says otherwise. Unless you believe an expiring IQ who was due for a pay day was worth 3 FRPs at the time (he wasn’t). Deal doesn’t get done without both of them.

Right but that’s not what Chanel is saying. He’s not saying RJ had no value. He’s saying IQ was the cornerstone of the trade, which he was. You can also see by the way the Raps paid him after the season.

When we moved RJ, he still hadn’t taken the offensive leap he had with the Raptors and he was a bad fit with Randle. Didn’t hurt he had Canadian roots, but I’d still argue that IQ was the main piece in the deal.

The thing is, a lot of fans, myself included, will give guys more leniency when they're drafted by the team. That's why RJ despite being very similar to Randle got more leeway, because we hoped he would develop out of it. Randle was who he was, after 3 or 4 years with the team it was clear he wasn't gonna fix his deficiencies

I just find it's more fun to root for young guys to develop and play well for the team in the future than to root for them to suck because I'm pushing an agenda. Like, how great would it be if Dadiet and Kolek were good? That would solve almost all of our depth issues and make us a better team. I'm not gonna root for them to suck because I like Brunson and Mikal/OG and I would feel threatened by them, that would be ridiculous.

This. Knicks are better off without RJ. I was wrong about RJ being a big part of the Knicks future. I am happier today with OG than RJ (always loved getting OG tho). How hard was that?
