It really sucks that Cashman got rid of Eovaldi. This guy is perhaps the fourth best pitcher I've watched against the Yankees behind Pedro Martinez, Randy Johnson and Justin Verlander.

Eh...he wasn't that good here. He needed some time. Maybe Matt Blake could have helped him, if we had Blake back then. He also went through 4 years of injuries after leaving the Yankees.

Also, who the hell scheduled this game so early during the weekday.

Rodon pitching like an ace this year.

Yeah! Probably scheduled because of getaway day.

Man I got two guys I might need to eat crow for. Mark Leiter Jr finally looking good.

Rodon is at .96 WHIP...the same as his 2.37 ERA season with the White Sox a while back.

Edit: three guys. Bellinger. Keep it going!

I've never envisioned a world in which all of Brian Cashman's offseason moves have worked out. Hell really must be freezing over.

Have to give Cashman credit for signing Goldshmit on a 1 year deal instead of signing Christian Walker on a 3 year deal, who almost every yankee fan wanted, Goldshmit has been excellent and Walker has been horrible. Rodon has shut me up this season lol I'm glad. It's a long season so some guys are going to get hot and some will get cold, we just need to keep stacking these wins while our division looks weak.

I really hope we do not have to see Stroman pitch in another game for us. I am having a difficult time deciding which contract was Cashman's dumbest: Stroman's or Hicks'.

9:38 pm start time games are brutal for everyone.

For complaints, 2B/3B. I don't see too much happening there.Still annoyed they didn't just get a competent infield guy. Doesn't need to be too expensive...just someone who is average. I doubt we trade for anyone. I think they want DJLM to work like Anthony Rizzo last year.

Kinda concerned about Austin Wells, considering the fact that we traded two starting catchers to the Marlins and Red Sox. He was such a beast last year. I guess the league scouted him well. Escarra is a nice story.

I think we did a much better job with our pitching depth and development this season though. Fried is a beast. Rodon is back...fingers crossed. Will Warren actually looking good. Yarbrough competent and good. Schmidt is solid. If we built up our depth last season, we seriously might have had home field advantage for the World Series...guess we need to learn sometime.

Beyond that, I watch some of these games, hoping Judge will get back above .400. It's kinda brutal. Each out is like a -.002 and each hit is like a +.002. And then he gets walked and I'm like...dammit.

Stroman...the Yankees ego was in play here. Didn't want to pay Yamamoto. Then Stroman, a notorious Yankees' troll, comes back, tail between his legs, apologizing and begging for the Yankees to give him a chance. Hard for Hal and Cashman to resist that. We almost got double-screwed because we gave him that player option that would have kicked in if he didn't get hurt this year.

3rd best record in baseball. Tops in the AL. Really not much to complain about. I am not fully invested yet though. Knicks in the playoffs are my sole focus right now.

Just needed to put this out there.

Volpe: 1.9 WAR
Soto: 1.6 WAR

But yea...Volpe has taken a little leap. Average is virtually the same but he's getting more walks and hitting for more power. He's also been pretty durable.

Batting .400 in modern baseball is just too much to ask. One 1 for 4 outing and he's screwed. :-? I just want to get him to October healthy and in a good head space.

But yeah. I'm stunned that we are getting great stuff from Warren and Yarborough. Don't forget that Gil is coming back too.

We're better than last year. Juan did us a favor and I hope fans lay off him

Jazz and Stanton are on their way too. It's gonna be wild for Boone because not everyone is gonna play everyday.

Volpe isn't Bobby Witt Jr but he's doing his job.

I watch pretty much every game if I can unless Knicks or Liberty are on.

Not these games on the west coast though. Watching baseball at 10pm is basically just asking me to fall asleep

I'd argue that those results are really good, beyond just doing his job. 1.9 a third of the way through the season gets him close to 6, if he keeps it up.

For context, Elly De La Cruz was at 5.2 WAR last year, Vlad was at 6.1. Betts 4.8. He might tail off cause Volpe can be streaky, but I'll take it.
