They have both been key figures in the franchise's resurgence.
We're not where we are today without Thibs.
I don't think he's perfect, and I certainly don't agree with all of his decisions, including tonight when he left the starters in the game.
But he has done an exceptional job coaching the Knicks overall. He's a Knick legend.
I think some criticism is fair, but I wish we weren't so quick to advocate firing him. He's an integral part of the fabric and the history of this franchise.
He's an integral part of the fabric and the history? We haven't won a title in 52 years!!

Thibs was an asst the last time we made the finals 26 years ago. We lost that series. The fabric and history of this team is two early 70s championships. That's it. Some fierce playoff battles that ended up going nowhere in the 90s Two finals losses. That's what he's not even an integral part of until now.
He is an integral part of the last 5 years. The resurgence. I'll give him that like I always have. The criticism is well deserved. The credit is due though. He raised the floor here and he has gotten further than any HC since JVG. That's his history here. I applaud him with the rest of the team. I'm not jumping off a bridge though because the players deserve ALL of the credit for what just happened against Boston. Thibs and the team have been lackluster during these playoffs until game 4 and especially last night. We had no business being up 2-0. That coaching was horrible.
Leon though, masterclass in rebuilding in New York!! Flowers all day!!
