duetta, I suggest you read the recent Larry Coon article the money "on the table" assumptions.

All it takes is one knee injury, and his earning power is dramatically diminished - not to mention a draconian new CBA.

Well you got me there.

I CAN'T see LeBron not coming here. His favorite city in the world will hate him more than Miller and Jordan COMBINED. He won't be allowed to Yankee games anymore because of safety reasons. You can see it now. He'll be in CLE, with 0 flexibility, getting ousted in the first and second rounds of the playoffs, while the Knicks strike gold and are contenders for years to come. Everyone will start to forget LeBron, and he ends his career with 0 titles.

Honestly, if LBJ doesn't come, he won't be allowed to be in NYC.

People in Cleveland think he's leaning towards staying, they're optimistic -- but there is no extension coming and LeBron will not deal with the issue until after the season.

The source says there is certainly still a chance he leaves, despite the fact that they feel more confident as the season has gone on. Primarily there are two reasons: They're winning a lot of games and the Nike deal did not have a NY preference.

The LeBron-o-thon continues. So I guess that means I win my bet. That was fast. Should I ban Notorious23?!?

Are you agreeing to my bet I posted earlier? What do you want in return? I'll pay your cable bill for a year? Buy you a nice dinner? Beer for a month? An iPod? You name it. But if at the start of the next season Lebron is a Cav you must change your name to Cavsgod.

Put up or shut up. If you trust your sources somuch it should be a no brainer. You tell all these guys on here all day he is coming and drop inuendos.

So put something on it.

Like I said ante up. You know what I want. Your name. What do you want?

Maybe we can do a blockbuster trade where Notorious23 is not banned but he just inherits the username of someone who was recently banned.

Well he posted a legit radio link but he also quoted sources, of which he probably has nothing.

I make a solemn promise that my source is rock solid. Cavs feel good about their chances but no extension is being negotiated and none is likely to happen before the playoffs. It could happen sure, but it's not in the works now. There would have to be a change of heart from LeBron and nobody expects it.

I won't have much to say about it anyway as I felt he was going to stay so the news isn't earth shattering but I'm more interested in the Wiretap and article from cbssports stating what the cap figure more than likely will be. Just above $54mil which leads me me I believe the figure is known before the Moratorium. They make it official and a formality amidst the Moratorium. I've been working with a $55mil figure past 4mos and thought it would fall between $53-55mil.

What I want is to have posters who discuss basketball rather than come here to bait people and offer silly bets.

Funny you should mention "cavsgod" though -- because if the Cavs keep LeBron, something I have never said was not possible (and which I've said is likely if they win the title), I will root for them despite annoying fans like yourself. My first wish is for the Knicks to get him, but if not, I think LeBron is a great player and great guy and I have never disliked the Cavs. I'd root for him to win ... as KnicksGod(!) ... and as long as he's not going through the Knicks. So I'll be a "cavsgod" somewhere in my heart.

As far as your bet offer, I don't know if LeBron is staying or going but I can say with 85% confidence that he's not going to sign an extension soon. So you shouldn't get your hopes up in that area buddy.

Now why don't you run along so this doesn't get ugly.

Knicksgod this is the most exciting free agency ever. It has the potential to turn a team from rags to riches and from riches to rags. When someone posts from New York media it is a fact when Cleveland media says something it is garbage. Don't understand why, especially since Cleveland media has always treated it as if they unsure. Either way we may never have so much excitement over a FA period ever again so enjoy it. By that I mean both sides will bring something to the table from both cities. It's not baiting it's debating. So stop worrying about banning everyone and looking informed and start enjoying this moment in sports history. Next year when you are hoping to sign the next Allan Houston it won't be nearly as fun.

Yep it will be fun. We don't know what will happen.

As of now, I favor the Cavs to win the title personally, which means I favor LeBron staying actually. But anything could happen from now until he signs with someone.

But wasn't this thread originally about LeBron signing an extension? That's probably not happening!

The rest of what you say is true though. It's a fun story.

Knicksgod, you have a lot more patience than I do. Kudos to you. Everyone's trying to read the tea leaves and until there is some definitive news, its all just speculation and opinion.

I don't get how Cavs fans can so vehemently attack the idea that LBJ might leave. Until he signs the extension, it would seem obvious that at least LBJ is thinking about leaving so why can't the Cavs fans contemplate that possibility?

this is B.S. I saw plenty of pictures and avatars of Lebron in a nyk uniform on here..someone here even has a fake press conference animated Gif of him in a NYK shirt. Lies!

we'll be lucky if we can get Bosh this summer and make a run at someone in 2011.

KnicksGod...I'm truly concerned about your mental well-being if LeBron does not sign with the Knicks. Trivisano isn't the best source for Cavs info. Which is not to say he couldn't be right. Read Windhorst article on your new espnnewyork.com where he talks about the Cleveland LeBron and the New York LeBron. I think it's a pretty fair and balanced article.
Here's link http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/ ... nNY-100402

Then consider that later, Windhorst (who knows Cavs and LeBron probably better than any writer) feels more confident LeBron stays with Cavs.

Personally I would be shocked if he signs without doing the FA tour and I'd be more concerned someone offers Lee a deal 1 minute in and puts Walsh in the box while LeBron takes a couple weeks to make his intentions known.

But please...step away from the ledge.
