Durant

Yeah I meant realistically. :D

I can't see Durant signing if Kurt Rambis remains the head coach. Tom Thibodeau is not just the best choice from a pure coaching standpoint, but he's extremely well respected by most of these top players (they have gotten to work with him through 3 Olympics (he's an assistant coach on Team USA...and counting...already). But yes, I would love to have Durant.

There is not an exhaustive list of free agents. It is not that trivial to find "fit". One thing for sure though: I want Phil to make the free agent decisions. I am very happy about the players we passed on, ie Greg Monroe.

Only chance is to tank in 2017 for Josh Jackson. I'll settle for the next McGrady.

The Knicks won't tank...only way we end up with a top lottery pick next season is on accident.

Next season is looking like it's playoffs or bust

Kurt Rambis&players who fit triangle sounds like tanking
Rambis might be better tank commander than Fisher.

If it means we wont go after that empty stat loser Rondo then I am all for it.

if we're going off last summer it means seraphin(after we already signed a million bigs) instead of lin, shved or any other guard.

I disagree. Seraphin was signed because no one including every fan on this board knew what KP was going to give us year 1. I think Phil saw Calderon/Grant AA/Gallo as a decent 4 man rotation at guard. At the time Melo and the team wanted him strictly to play the 3. So there were a ton of minutes at the 4 which needed to be distributed.

KP's yearly development basically eliminated any chance of Seraphin playing which was a good thing but it was hard to determine how much KP was going to play and help early.

No one knew what KP would be but we all knew Seraphin was a black hole of suckitude.

Too bad we didn't just re-sign Alexey "Feed my" Shved and Cole "the Ostrich" Aldrich. The former would have been our best guard, and the latter would have been better than Kyle, Kevin, and Lou. Don't know what the hell Phil was thinking letting them go, but as usual many posters here thought just because the team wasn't good that they had nobody worth keeping, when we've seen former Knicks go on to help other teams so many times.

I think that's the point of keeping Rambis. Tank by accident on purpose.

Can the management really be so dense as to not realize that the system is holding the team back?

That our players would operate better in the pick and roll, and our offense would be better by shooting more 3's and not posting up.

Our offense is putrid, ugly, slow, and predictable. Not a single team in this league runs this bull.

If the front office passes on talent just to get random retards who fit the system, then I will give up on the knicks until Phil kicks the bucket and Rambis is fired.

It's beginning to get unbearable.

Why would management think that? We haven't actually ever executed the system properly. It's actually getting kind of unbearable that people can't separate the context from the system.

The system, when run right, is a proven winner. In fact, no system has won more.

And save the "he had HOF'ers" nonsense. Pop has won waaaay less with 3 HOF'ers, and Kerr needs 3 future HOF'ers to win too.

Man im so sick of hearing about this triangle bs everytime I log on.

Even when I wake up, I have a Bleacher Report notification saying Knicks and triangle this and triangle that.

This franchise is the worst.

Players' and coaches' intrinsic and personal talents for their jobs, along with their work ethic and smarts, are much more important than anything. You could make Thibs run triangle all day and every day, and he'd still win. Because the system is not as important as the person in charge, or the players executing.

And then there's also THAT defense.

They will be looking for smart/quick learners, hardworking, unselfish and determined players.

Not trying to call guys out that much but I think guys like Jennings, Mayo, Jeff Green, Al Jefferson, Eric Gordon, Dion Waiters will not be getting a call from Phil Jackson for an interview.

Rondo could fit in that boat I suppose, but I think we will look into him, Melo would be happy, and if he comes at a 2 year deal for 10-13 mil then I think he is still a bargain and we could then still go out and spend on a guy like Batum or Turner/Fournier + another guy. Not the biggest fan of Rondo but he is still talented and could fit.

We shouldn't be calling these guys anyway. Triangle or no Triangle.
