How's that Note recall working for you guys?

For Samsung's part, Note 7s are being replaced and the software is being updated. iPhones from here on out will never have a headphone jack.

Whats being recalled and should I send mine in. Its working just fine.

There was a problem with the battery cells of a few devices where during charging they were malfunctioning and blowing up. I'm pretty sure it was only from one batch of phones so the majority should be ok. I am keeping mine but if you want piece of mind your carrier will give you a refund on your phone and you can get a new one when they ship them out in a week or 2.

A-D-A-P-T-E-R....included.

Also....and?

• Like I mentioned before in this thread, Apple received the same "backlash" when they swapped-in the lightning connectors for the 1st time over the last 2 years for the iPad & then the iPhone.

• Apple also received the same "backlash" when they 1st introduced the new home button & touchscreen designs nearly 10 years ago. ;) Flip screen "experts" called it the wrong move back then too.

• The so called "better" Samsung & LG phones (HTC used to apart of this), are all variant copies of iPhones, and they STILL fail to beat them each and every year BOTH in performance AND sales! Yet every we still have to hear the same sh*t.

Jobs & Ivy were right, people are inately stupid and don't know what's really good for them, so you eventually just have to decide for them and show them!

My Note 7 works great and I am extremely satisfied. The recall is blown out of proportion. No pun intended lol. There were 25 cases out of 1 faulty batch not much to worry about. Note beats the I7 in every category expect for having a 7mp front facing.

Umm, real world speed tests aren't out yet, so keep believing that!

Every year Android & Samsung fanboys tout the same sh*t to Apple fanboys about how their devices will trump ours, and EVERY FUC'N YEAR they....wait for it...

P.S. Not aimed at you personally my man! :D

Trust me I don't take any of it personal Mags. This war between Apple and Android users will continue for many years to come. I personally have no problem with the Iphone and don't think it is a terrible phone. I have had a few generations of Iphones in the past. I did however switch to android about 4-5 years ago and won't ever switch back. The problem I have is when I have a discussion with Apple users about what they like about Iphones I always get the same "Well it is just easy to use and I have been using it for too long to switch to something else" answer. No one can point out anything software or hardware wise except for IMessage which was really outdated by all software bases going to threaded texts years ago. Apple also manufactures little of the hardware themselves and guess what for the last number of years 70% of their A series chips where made by Samsung.

The comparison I usually make to compare the two for any gamers here is Apple is the Nintendo while Android is the Super Nintendo. Nintendo was fun and very simple to play. You had a 2 button layout on the controller so everything was more condensed and you didn't have to think as much. They had their platform games that everyone loved and even offered additional add on hardware like the gun for duck hunt or the power mat to improve gameplay but at a price. Then the Super Nintendo came out with a better chip set and better graphics, a 6 button layout which made the games more fun because you had more control and an expanded set of platform games with integrated peripherals like being able to play gameboy games on it. Did it make Nintendo any worse or less fun? no but people liked SNES better because there were more gameplay and platform options.

Bingo. Having wireless headphones is an inconvenience. I mean think about it, what is the benefit to them? None that I can think of.

Force people to have to buy their expensive headphones when the previous headphone breaks. Right now, I just go to Marshall's or check Ebay for a cheap discounted wired headphone for under $10. My guess is their 'special' headphones will be much more than that. Should give them a spike of cash flow before China catches up and makes cheap copycats.

Couple differences though. The 30-pin and the flip style were replaced by something better. Any audiophile or DJ will tell you Bluetooth isn't better than wired for now or the near future. Not to mention carrying a small dongle and charging another device don't exactly spell convenience. There's also the small inconvenience of not being able to charge and listen to music (something people still do, especially for people at work or use their phones as a radio with an auxiliary cable and charge their phones for long road trips), which also sucks since Bluetooth uses more power than a standard 3.5mm jack.

Make no mistake. Wireless is the future. But as for the present, Bluetooth isn't it. Hell, you would at least thought Apple would've included wireless charging before removing the headphone jack.

And just because something sells more doesn't mean it's better. If that was true, fast food chains would be the premiere restaurants in the world.

Apple's Lightning connector EarPods are $29. The wireless AirPods will sell for $159.

Is that supposed to be a good thing? I don't pay more than $10 for headphones.

I bet half of the people who get the Airpods will lose 1 ear piece within a couple of months. Samsung released similar headphones about a month geared towards Fitness users and I thought those were for an extremely niche market.

That is what every Iphone user says every year. Be carefully the phone isn't actually waterproof just water resistant. With IP67 resistance it can be submerged for up to 3 feet for up to 30 mins. BTW my Samsung Galaxy S5 had the same technology 3 years ago.

I just bought the S5 Active a week ago. Only reason I'm upgrading from the four is because the metal part in my charger broke off and doesn't charge well. I'm really cheap and don't need the nicest or newest galaxy. I'll never buy an apple product. Uncle works for software/computer companies (IBM being one of them) so he informs us about what's best

Firstly you shouldn't sleep on the premium LG models, LG v10 has more impressive specs than iPhone 6s plus it's at a lower price, it's also likely the LG V20 will edge out the iPhone 7 again at a lower price.

Close.. But it's not that they're stupid, it's more that people don't know what they want until you give it to them. Also they stole that concept from the Sony founder Akio Morita.

I loved my S5 and it lasted me about 2 and a half years. The only reason I really switched is because I cracked the screen in the shower. I went to the S7 and it was a fairly good upgrade and then changed to the Note 7 last month. I suspect you will probably encounter some issues in the next year with internal storage as these apps keep getting bigger and might not be compatible with the 5 once the 8 comes out.

I really like the V10 and contemplated getting one when it came out but I'm not a huge fan of LG's layout. I prefer the 2nd screen up top to the edge that the galaxy series has though. I haven't seen the V20 yet but I'm sure that will be good too. LG just needs to modernize their layout a little bit and not look so hokey. My friend has the G5 and he loves it but I think that is more of a niche phone for the camera rather than a premium smart phone.

Yeah the second screen should blend in a bit more icely into the phone, but design wise I think it looks pretty good:

It's funny because I was considering between the G5 and V10 and chose V10 because I thought the G5 looked gimicky.

It's funny because I was considering between the G5 and V10 and chose V10 because I thought the G5 looked gimicky.

The big changes in the V20 is the aluminum instead of the plastic back, much better camera, 64GB internal storage, faster processor with 4GB DDR4 Ram and a similar finger print scanner to the G5. All in all looks pretty good. It will also come with Android 7.0 Nougat pre installed.

I shudder to ask, but why were you showering with your phone?

I was a little underwhelmed by what they made (apple watch series 2 included), but next year's should be amazing. Not gonna get the new iPhone because waiting for next year.

I also don't care about the headphone jack because I use the wireless powerbeats, so whether or not there is a headphone jack is irrelevant to me.

Whats being recalled and should I send mine in. Its working just fine.

There was a problem with the battery cells of a few devices where during charging they were malfunctioning and blowing up. I'm pretty sure it was only from one batch of phones so the majority should be ok. I am keeping mine but if you want piece of mind your carrier will give you a refund on your phone and you can get a new one when they ship them out in a week or 2.

hahaha probably so. I am not worried though. Samsung is recalling all just to cover their butts.
