I've heard a lot of people say Ball would fit in Philly, but I just can't see Simmons as anything other than a point who needs the ball in his hands. With Ball, obviously he is the floor general, so what does Simmons do? He is a horrific shooter and he needs the ball in his hands. Would be very interesting to see the Lakers pass on Ball. I could see him dropping to 5 if that happens. Still doesn't really change our options even if that does happen. Lavar would be pissed. You would have to give Magic and his staff credit for not taking Ball simply because it is what's expected.

Ball can easily play off ball on offense if Simmons is initiating the offense. I also don't see Simmons as a point guard, so I think the fit is there regardless - he's like Lamar or Blake (with a better handle and without the absolute freakish/elite athleticism)

If they draft Ball who might end up playing off the ball with Simmons initiating the offense, why not just take Monk? You take Ball to be your floor leader and facilitator. I just don't like the pairing. I also think Simmons can definitely play PG.

Simmons isn't playing 48 minutes a game, so they'll need a legit creator for when he's on the bench IF he's playing PG (which, again, I don't think he can do full time). I agree Monk fits well as a shooter next to Simmons, but Lonzo does as well...and he provides way more than just shooting. I honestly see no issue with the pairing at all regardless of the position Simmons ends up playing.

I could see Ball & Simmons playing just fine together... like the way Steph & Dray share the rock.

Right but the dynamic and skill set between Draymond and Steph is much different than Simmons and Ball, or so I am assuming. I just think you take Ball to be your 100% unquestioned PG, not a guy who sometimes brings the ball up.

These are all good points but I just find it hard to say no to MORE good ball handling, which in today's NBA...the ability to cut down on turnovers and keep possession/making good choices are so important.

Ball and Simmons could easily play together. Teams just don't use one ball handler and Ball can shoot it so he has no problem spacing the floor when simmons goes to work.

Fox would be the only guard that probably doesn't fit next to simmons.

I don't think he would get passed us. Phil would be an idiot to pass up on Lonzo just because he hasn't met him. He's what we've needed for the past 15 years and he's everything Phil loves in a lead guard even moreso than Frank.

That and Ball also has a low usage rate. He doesn't hold the ball at all which is perfect next to Simmons who likes to faceup and operate with the ball in his hands. If Lavar wasn't the biggest thing that came along when you talk about Lonzo more and more people on this forum would love Lonzo.

If we pass on him it would be very difficult to substantiate

THAT is not the same kid, NBAdraft.net was putting on their videos of strengths and weaknesses...

There's a reason why Donnie Nelson and Cuban WANT the Knicks to pass on him.

IF the Knicks take Dennis Smith Jr, I'll be content but there's no way the Knicks should pass up on Frank IF Dennis is taken.

A lot of fans that go to games and the draft aren't as into things other than the actual game like we are. They don't study the draft and the players in it or who we're being linked to the way we do and i think this had a lot to do with the booing of KP.

If the Knicks fans at the KP draft were only the most active of us on this board that were at the draft, do you think the KP pick would of got booed the way it was?? I don't think it would of because we at least knew about the kid and even the people that wanted to draft J.Winslow or whoever else still knew that the KP pick had a chance at being a really good pick which i don't think many of the fans at that draft knew much if anything about him at all which is why they booed him....IMO.

Agreed. Jackson to LA and Ball to Philly makes the most "fit" sense from where I'm sitting.

I think basketball-wise they're pretty equal as prospects. I'd give the nod to Frank because his measurables are slightly better and as a raw mold I think his ceiling might be slightly higher. But I like Mitchell as being a slightly safer bet because his body is already ready for the NBA whereas Frank is still very skinny and weak up top.. I wouldn't be shocked if Mitchell is Dallas's back up plan for Frank.

Someone just put out a tweet i think yesterday that Frank has a grown man's body now. I can't remember who the tweet was from but it was posted in the draft thread.

does he still weigh 170?

I have no idea what he weighs. I don't think any team has been able to weigh him or anything.

I agree 100%. Most of the chumps at the live draft base their analysis off their March Madness bracket. They're like, "But this guy showed up during the game against Duke..."

But I'd like to think most of us die-hards understand if scouting was THAT simple...Bo Kimble would be the GREATEST player who ever lived.

There was something to that KP pick. Not going to get into the vietnam war of whether or not he's a "franchise" guy but he's definitely better than Winslow...he's definitely better than Mudiay.

About Frank: Like most would probably agree, I believe there are more NBA-ready players who could contribute right away. That's not to say that Frank couldn't have a decent career in the league, but people should be ready to give him time to develop if he is the actual pick. I wonder if those who want Frank would be willing to wait a few years for the Knicks to develop him on somewhat limited playing time? I do believe that the Knicks should take the BPA with the #8 pick, and I have some doubts about Frank being the BPA once the Knicks pick.

I have had a feeling for some time now that Lauri will be the pick - which certainly would be an interesting situation for a Finn and Knick fan like myself. It's true that Lauri will never be a dominant rebounder or shot blocker, but he has an interesting skill set for player his size, and still has room for improvement. I think Arizona could have used him much more effectively than they did.

Yes since its a great trade for both teams . Portland now @#2 in spending gets down (-$10 mil-for MC trade - 6ish mil for the 15th pick ).
Since its not an unrealistic trade its got a good shot by Phil.
