Its why I think a lot of people are missing the point with Mills. In what world would Dolan be ok with a rebuild? In what world would he be ok with fixing the front office? Mills has Dolans trust and he has been talking with a lot of autonomy and saying things this franchise has never heard before but he isn't dumb and knows he can't do it himself. That's where Perry comes in, a guy who has 30 years experience as a coach and executive from successful ball clubs. Regardsless of what people may think, Griffen would have never worked because he doesnt have Dolans ear. Mills and Perry will work because for the first time it seems like we are all in lockstep and Mills will be much more open to what Perry recommends that people think. At least thats what I believe.
Does anybody know who ordered the study by McKinsey? They are one of the most highly regarded consulting firms, and their advice is what Mills and Perry have been talking about when they say keep picks, go young, tall, fast... They've applied data analysis to which teams improve, and this was their conclusion (if you aren't lucky enough to have Lebron drop in your lap).
