Lol exactly. At this rate, he'll be out of the top 100 next year.

On a serious note... it's ok. Melo doesn't have to be a top 15 player anymore at his age. He can still be effective and respected. His problem is that he thinks he has to be a scoring machine to prove everyone wrong. He doesn't f*cking get it.

I just keep thinking about KP and the young guys on this team. I cringe every time I imagine Melo out there taking shots from everyone else this year. Burning up offensive possesions and showing no effort on the defensive end. It will be demoralizing to his teammates once again, until the Knicks go on a horrid streak of losing and Jeff finally removes him from the starting lineup.

He was actually 31 last year. #15 was from the year before that.

I get it if it was when he was younger. But at this point I'd focus on legacy.

He just spent 4 years of his prime without the postseason. Who cares where anyone ranks you for the season? Worry about where they rank you all time.

We played much better defense under Fisher.

Much better? Our drtg relative to the league was worse under Fisher than it was last year.

Stop handing me stats Sark about something I'm using my eyes for. I've told you that a million times. Stats will never sway me.

We looked beyond bad in defense last year. Everyone looked liked garbage on defense. Communication was horrible.

lol at eyes over stats, that's straight up silly.

For sure. But till that happens, I hope he takes a step back and maximizes what's probably the most talented roster he's had here.

Dad Melo needs to show up.

A true sign of maturity is stopping myself from reading post debating if Harrison Barnes is better than Melo.

Melo should have left 2 years ago if he cared about his legacy, right after he signed the contract. He would have maximized the trade kicker, and been in the playoffs. Instead he's going on year 5 of no playoffs, and his legacy will be like Mitch Richmond's. Wasted prime on a crap team.

Melo, like Cousins will always be "big talents" on crap teams, because casual fans wont dig deeper to see why they're part of the problem. Low efficiency on high volume in a game of possessions will result in losing. It's not difficult. PPG is probably the worst metric in all of sports to gauge impact.

And people say I'm crazy for bashing the guy. 64 is about right. As much as I hate espn, they have been pretty legit when it comes to ranking this franchise.
