It really does not make sense right now for the Knicks to make a move for AD right now.

Too bad neither of you are Dell Demps, who wouldn't.

He should take the Lakers deal. Just sent Ball to Phoenix for a future #1. It'll probably be good, as the Suns suck forever.

Boston package trumps us easily unless we have Zion. Also it's a dumb move for us to gut the team.

IMO I think our top 5 pick (even if it doesn't land at 1) is more valuable than guys like Ball and Ingram. This draft has some nice players, that will be under team control for cheap for 4 years as opposed to Ingram who will get big money as a RFA in 2020 and probably Ball/Kuz too in 2021. With the Knicks offer, their 2019 1st would be under contract through 2023, and Knox through 2022.

Maybe it doesn't make a difference, but I still think it plays to the Knicks favor that the players they can offer are controllable for longer at a lower salary

If NYK get #1, it's best asset by a lot. BOS would need to throw everything @ NOP. Not even concerned about LAL, they lowballed value wise, looks like BOS is doing the same w that offer.

Boston kinda got screwed this season (in terms of assets losing value). The Clippers have now sold off their best player (Harris) and will likely fall out of playoff contention (likely pushing the pick to next year). The Kings (#14) are making a serious push for playoff contention (not the high lottery pick they probably envisioned). And the Grizzlies is protected at the moment (and would probably stay so if they trade Gasol and/or Conley)

Listen... nobody is going to pass up on KD because he's sensitive lol

But him coming here and finding out being a star in NY isn't all what he thought it would be... That can happen. Him not handling it well... that can happen too.

What does him not handling it well even mean?

Defending himself on burner accounts when he should be sleeping.

Whatever he deals with or dealt with in Golden State or Oklahoma will be x10 here.

He will be "the guy" here. It will be his team. If the Knicks win, it will be "the Knicks" won. If the Knicks lose, it will be "Durant" lost. With GSW, he has Steph and Klay take a big load and a lot of faults. That was and still is Steph's team. In OKC he had Russell who took a lot of fault. He was chucking a lot of missed shots in the PO losses where people put the blame on. KD will take most if not all the fault with the Knicks. He will be the oldest, most paid, most seasoned player on the team.

I'm all for bringing him here btw. 100%. But there is some concern. The last thing I want is him to fail, and we hear the same song and dance of the Knicks media and fans killing their star athletes.

I predict in an hour and a half it’s gonna go crazy.
This is the usual lull time.

its closer than you think. As I mentioned above, their pick aren't as good they were thought to be heading into the season. The main get with Boston is Tatum...and I'm wondering if when push comes to shove if Ainge would really trade him; he's been known to hold onto his assets (didn't go for PG13 or Butler)

I don’t think it’s that bad of a package if they take Hill and it’s like 4 picks

It doesn’t sound like 4 firsts. Even if it is, we have better picks AND are offerings better Prospects. The fact that they’re not even offering Murray says A LOT. We don’t need to bid against ourselves. It’s why the Lakers pulled out.

KP was the only thing the Knicks have that anyone wants. Between that and trying to maintain space for the "Two Max Cat" fairytale, Perry is done, which logically, considering what I just wrote, makes sense.

Noah (6,431,667)
Thomas (1,000,000)

Smith Jr. (4,463,640)
AD (27,093,019)
Robinson (1,559,712)

Trier (3,551,100 TO)

6,707,712 (min roster charge: 8)

7,431,667+4,463,640+1,559,712+27,093,019+3,551,100+6,707,712=50,806,850

109,000,000-50,806,850=58,193,150 (cap space)

Sign KD

7,431,667+4,463,640+1,559,712+27,093,019+3,551,100+38,150,000+5,869,248 (min roster: 7)=88,118,386

109,000,000-88,118,386=20,881,614 (cap space after AD, KD)

So we could buy back Kanter and Ron Burgundy?

A raw C, a raw PG/SG/SF - whatever the f*ck Frank is, and Knox, who looks like he needs a few years. I don't think that's better prospects than the Lakers or Boston, TBH.

The NBA finals are basically a forgone conclusion due to his decision to go to the Warriors. Other than his free agency, there's not much to talk about with the Warriors.

Also if you don't want people asking about your free agency, don't keep signing one year deals.
