Oh, they definitely can, especially if the sim doesn't bring guys back rusty off of long layoffs, but I don't think those couple of months makes him a top guy. I could be wrong though. I'd place Bojan or Eric Gordon as more likely to spur a bidding battle.

I like the renovation of your team when you put what you were given in context...

Thanks.I had to give up some young pieces I would have loved to keep but I had too many bad long-term contracts and wouldn't have even been able to sign my original allotment of draft picks. I'm not a contender by any means, but I might be able to get a late seed. I definitely don't think the team will be third from the bottom in power rating again

yeah- i get it...this is my first year/season playing with the sim- dont now much about it it other than the player ratings...

Isn't the sim George Hill out until April?

Yup. But Dallas will likely be in the Finals again. So if anyone can afford to sign him to a low salary mulit-year deal and roll the dice that he will be a contributor for the playoffs, it's the Mavs.

Nah bro I’m coming for that spot. I could score with them, but had trouble getting stops (Made some moves to make sure that won’t happen next season). Warriors goal right now is definitely to beat Dallas who knocked us out of contention. Won’t be easy, but I think we’ll be right there.

I've got a spreadsheet with all of my cap projections with and without extensions

Honestly, I might not be a player at all in FA this year because I won't know if K-DOT's extension amendment will pass. If I knew it would I'd sign a couple of guys. Because I'm not sure, I likely will only sign small contracts to not mess with my extension room.

Even if it passed you would be better off extending now so you will have more money when they are better in future

Pretty much like this:

Doncic extended using Bish's extension rule = his base salary $47 x 1.9 to extend him three years. As a result he ends up getting paid $89, but he's locked up for 6 years for a total of $252 extra dollars over his contract in addition to the base amount. What' K-Dot suggested was that we could wait to extend, giving a player more time to develop, but when we did extend we still had to pay the exact same amount as in my prior example, but over the remaining years, so the annual amount would be higher. For example, if I put off extending Doncic until next year I'd have 4 years left on his deal after extending, but would have to pay $110 annually instead. It's a way to give us longer to extend, but still have to pay the same total dollars. Does that make sense?

You're probably right, and it is what I will likely do. The only reason I have flexibility is the expiring Rubio deal next year. I already factored in Zion being extended next year, and if I extend everybody this year and next year I'll have $107 in cap room next offseason.

Would that be instead of the original rule where we would extend for less but for fewer years? I.e. the 60% 6yr deal?

I think we should let the current rules stand, so if you want to do the 60 or 30 plan you can, but if you want an extra year or two you have to pay more. Just more options

I think it's in addition to. I like it just because it gives you a little more flexibility with a hard cap and gives projects a little more time to develop.
