You should do. It's moderately interesting, a little rah-rah, but very mildly considering everyone else's pre-season press conferences.

fwiw, I'm assuming you aren't actually irl an obsessive hater of all former Knicks players.

the injury he had can go away by constantly being active.

it's not like the knicks did anything malpractice.

I didn't get the impression he was criticising the Knicks, so much as acknowledging that it was necessary for him to play a certain role on the Knicks last year and that he was doing that whilst playing under/through injury problems. Whether those particular problems sometimes go away without changing regime/decreasing activity is moot - they clearly didn't in his case.

Hill for me.

He would be in GOAT conversations if he stayed healthy.

hill is winnng on twitter. i think i would go penny though. those first couple of years in orlando it looked like they were gonna take over the league. for hill to matter, you gotta vote hill & tmac.

now that i think about it, orlando has had some real bad luck. they were close to having dynasty-like talent combos multiple times.

they almost had duncan, hill, mcgrady. all 3 healthy could have been the best superteam ever.

Penny was an extremely close second for me. There was a time when he was my favorite player in the league.

I think Hill matters on his own though. He was the heir apparent until his injuries.

i'm just thinking of what would happen if he went to orlando and mcgrady eventually got hurt. they would have those 1st couple of years though to win a title.

His time with the Knicks tainted him but no one else in that era dominated both ends of the floor like TMac. Perfect combination of size, skill and speed, not to mention a killer instinct and clutch ness. Played like 40 minutes a game too. Hill never had a three ball, Penny never really had a position because he couldn’t guard quick point guards and didn’t shoot well enough to be a two guard. No contest for me.

As a Seattleite I have to go with B-Roy. He had the city buzzing for a while. Every kid with hoop dreams wanted to be him.

T-Mac never really had a reliable 3 ball either and was a below average defender (aside from the handful of games when he tried).

I was going to say Penny or Roy but I think I have to go for TMac.

Something that I found out recently about TMac is that his back issues were caused by having one leg shorter than the other. So the whole issue with him "not wanting it as much as other guys" turns out to be complete nonsense. He literally couldn't go as hard without completely burning himself out.

You fix the leg and even his "healthy" prime is likely much higher and I think he had the most complete game of the group.

Also, the Knicks had three of those guys post injury and would have had 4 had Grant Hill not Grant Hilled us. We've got to stop doing that ****.

yep. is it better just to suck though or be let down so many times ?

new franchise. draft shaq & penny. look like they're the future of the league. shaq leaves and penny is never the same.
clear the cap and gonna put together duncan, mgrady, & hill. duncan bails, hill is hurt and never the same and you're left with just mcgrady.
draft dwight and go to the finals. they can't put another piece with him. lose him too.

that's some epic tease sh*t

Do you guys think Webber and Shaq would’ve been better than Penny and Shaq?

It really is.

I'd still take it. The Ewing years were ultimately disappointing but the day to day experience of watching those teams was sooooooooo much better than most of the last 20 years.

no. the early days of webber and penny there was no comparison who was better. penny was really good. for a couple years he was the most popular player in the league. there was a time when washington had webber, sheed and juwan howard and juwan howard was the best player. the knicks used to abuse the hell out of them. it took webber a minute to really come into his own.
