you can see how communicable this is. that person's wife, 2 kids, and the neighbor who drove him to the hospital all have been tested positive now.

Yes, it takes like a water drop amount of virus to infect.
People who may get infected while taking the same elevator.
A buddhist temple, after carefully examined, the virus can be found in the book, the kitchen sink and even the kneeling cushion after several days without any people sighting at all. (Since it is closed after the suspect is tested positive) This indicates the virus can survive for quite some time without a living host.
What worse, Hong Kong now has a case which the infected human may infect a dog "mildly positive" with this same name of virus. When virus goes across species, the fearsome part is that it may mutate and become more dangerous.
Hence even if you are not having a habit of hygiene, should take this virus very seriously. We heard even for the people who recovered from this, will still have permanent damage on the lung.
Are you fans of the team or the player?

Re: OT: The official Coronavirus fear mongering thread
I was at airports recently, including Miami's. I have not had major symptoms but I had a bad headache and stomach problem, and lingering feeling of a cold with a sore throat. No fever. I'd bet that I have it. It feels like mild flu. Could be just a regular cold but feels different from any I've had before.
I don't know whether I can test or should. My area has not had an outbreak per the news so far, and I'm trying to stay away from people.
I'm not joking about anything above, but this post and board is virus free.

Whoa
For all we know, there might be thousands already infected. They are not testing anybody until the case is very serious.

It's almost surely many thousands already. It often incubates in the host for a couple of weeks before symptoms manifest and some people just become carriers without getting sick

Re: OT: The official Coronavirus fear mongering thread
a few days ago, i went to a local pharmacy to buy some rubbing alcohol so i could make the hand sanitizer myself. of course, even rubbing alcohol was sold out. i was talking to the pharmacist about the virus for a few minutes, and the ups guy brought in a few cartons which was the hand sanitizers! i wanted to buy an entire case but bought only 4 bottles so that the others can have them as well. later i went back to the pharmacy to buy something else, the pharmacist told me the next 2 customers bought the rest of the hand sanitizers. 44 bottles.

There are people dying all over the world: Venezuela, Syria, northern Africa, central Africa... that's legitimate war I'm talking about, totally unnecessary, greedy big player warfare. And here we are panicking about the flu 2.0.
Most infected people heal within a week. This is a cold. It's nothing but a media craze. This isn't that bad.
