It only takes one imbecile.
I had no issues with the F Trae Young chants at first, but assuming the fan did in fact spit on Trae Young (which appears to be the case), there's no doubt in my mind that the chants fueled this behavior from a stupid fan, even if it's one isolated incident.
Young has stood strong and I respect him for it but maybe we can find chants that are less incendiary towards a single individual.

Screw Trae Young is a nice alternative

No
I don't know what you're talking about
But considering age and talent level, Ayton's one-on-one defense against Davis has been impressive, despite Davis' big numbers in Game 2 (34 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists). Ayton has done a nice job of playing angles and using his body and 7-foot-5 wingspan to at least make Davis feel him. With Ayton as the primary defender through two games, Davis is shooting just 30% (6-for-20). He's been physical with Davis on early post-ups, working to push him off his spots. The days of him jumping at every upfake with opposing bigs torching him as a rookie seem like a distant memory.
Ayton has also been sound as a pick-and-roll defender, doing a good job of staying low in his stance, keeping his head in line with the ball and either contesting or getting back to his man. He's even deterred James from downhill finishes on a couple of possessions. He'll still get burned on occasion and isn't going to break up lobs with an elite reach or bounce, but he's working to contest at the rim and is worlds ahead of where he was early in his career. Among the 16 big men who have defended at least 40 direct screens in the postseason (including the play-in tournament), Ayton ranks second in fewest points per possession allowed, behind only Draymond Green.
