Idk man. I appreciate how Leon finally picked a direction and showed his true colors. He’s just a more competent Isiah. This team is what it is and Thibs is a blunt instrument with predictable consequences.

Jamal Murray never would have developed here. Jokic never would have developed here. SGA never would have developed here. Haliburton never would have developed here. Paul George never. Kawhi never. Again, just my opinion. But it’s an opinion backed by watching pretty much every Knick game closely for going on 40 years.

Leon is way better than Zeke. That's not even an exaggeration. The only issue I have with Leon is that he hired Thibs and wastes assets because Thibs wants what he wants. The nepotism is pretty bad too. This CAA BS has been going on for too long. Did we ever have a winning season with Zeke?

The two of them are on exactly the same page about fielding a veteran-only team built to hammer its way as far as possible into the playoffs. Leon would have been fired a while ago with any other coach. I know I’m a broken record, but this will always be how it is under Dolan.

An “asset” is only an asset insofar as it can help acquire an established veteran from another team.

I spent months of my life pissing into the wind for years trying to warn people and their 700 page draft threads. It’s a testament to the human spirit that so many fans still play amateur draft scout when the Knicks literally have zero desire, intention, or ability to draft, develop and build around their own players.

I'm pretty sure we have had more drafted players in our rotation than we have ever had since Leon took over. I agree with the rest but, Leon is better than Zeke. We had ZERO winning seasons and 1 1st round loss under Zeke. The highest payrolls with the worst teams his entire run.

We're not winning anything meaningful this season (and probably next), not when our two best offensive players are horrible defensively, and need to be constantly covered for.

They never intended to keep any of these drafted players UNLESS those drafted players fit perfectly as secondary role players around veteran trade/FA acquisitions.

It’s why they’re so happy to trade down. The NY Knicks will never develop a top 10 pick into an All Star. They don’t want to. It’s not an accident, it’s by design.

Leon inherited RJ and Randle, a duo that made no sense and would never work. He very quickly decided which direction mattered more by extending Randle and was just biding time on RJ. Now I get to come on here and brag about how I’ve been saying this all along and it’s proven correct.

Sane knick fans, if there is such a thing, should not get attached to any draftee unless that draftee fits well as a secondary role player. Grimes was drafted as a 3-D corner release valve in Thibs’ primitive rigid system of veteran iso hoops. He’s never been given the chance to be more, and he’s flunking the exam as a role player.

Literally the best defense in the nba since OG got here. And we still have Mitch on the back burner

Time to trade Brunson and Randle then, I guess.

Maybe we can trade them for IQ and RJ!

Time to consider trading one of them. Knick management is apparently of a similar opinion, according to recent reports, and have considered moving Randle.

I'm willing to attempt to build a championship calibre team around Brunson - but that will require everyone else being adequate to excellent defenders. Of course, if Randle played far fewer minutes per night for a coach without a double standard, and who ran a real offense, maybe you would be able to hold him accountable on the defensive end (and thus make him a better player) - which Thibs refuses to do.

I don't want Clarkson - but we could give them an unprotected pick this year. But Ainge probably wants one 4-5 years out, which should be completely out of the question.
