I think we will enjoy the #1 pick and a multitude of the Knicks future while having a great front court of Clax and Clowney next to Cooper Flagg.

Your boy Brunson wasn’t even close to the level of Cam Thomas at 22. I wouldn’t be so cocky.

still trying to figure out whats the point of you coming on our board with the aggressive salt?

I saw Diop's name mentioned by someone in the Kevin Knox thread. That cracked me up a bit.

I'm kind of in the middle about how good this guy is. He's like our 4th or 5th guy off the bench. Maybe he'll play some backup PF. Whatever. Better than not having him. I don't think it shifts the balance of the trade. Jersey (er, a, I mean Brooklyn) got a bunch of picks. We got a desired player. Time will tell how it works out on both sides.

Nets are one of the teams racing towards the bottom this year. Maybe that'll work out for them in the long run. That Diop enabled us to avoid the hard cap at the apron is kind of huge, so I'm happy about that.

lmfao i remember you talked so much schit to us when yall got kd and kyrie. love how everything you said backfired. i admire that you're still trying to talk schit even though you lost.

enjoy missing out on cooper flagg and being a poverty franchise like you've been for eternity. i know it sucked seeing tatum and brown win a chip with your picks. lol nets.

I am a bit confused by this transaction. I got that we added two players to the original trade which exceeded Bridges’s salary and prevented us being capped at the first apron but adding Diop seems to me that we are now sending less salary than we are receiving. What am I missing?

Diop being a minimum contract means he doesn't count I believe as far as receiving. So it allows the Nets to send it to us and that counts but doesn't count for us receiving.

Right. It's why we couldn't just pack up all the min contract deals to avoid the apron.

Nah, it's just humiliating to be a Nets fan these days after the team was repeatedly debased by a Russian oligarch and then by the current leadership that was worse than hoodwinked by Flatso Irving and his henchman KD. Just like this poster, they talked a great game and brought nothing but destruction to Brookly -- and a championship to Boston. So after all this, coud he actually enjoy the further humiliation of being known as one of the last of his kind?

Not that good for Y'all :D But he was good the year prior playing for the Spurs. We have culture and great coaching going for us. We boosted up Precious Achiuwa and Im sure Thibs can do the same for the guy he originally picked.

PS. Thanks for allowing us to fleece you for Mikal.

These deluded Nets fans seem to think because a player wasn't able to perform for their garbage ass team with trash culture it's the player's fault. As if MB having a down year last season was him, not the franchise letting him down.

All we have to look at is how much better most of the role players the Knicks acquire perform once they are in the Knicks culture, such as Precious and Divo, than they have before they got here. There have been some outliers to this, such as Reddish and Obi so it's not an always situation.

Either those types of players didn't live up to the culture or they didn't have a role in the system. Cam still is wasting his potential and Obi found a system more suitable to his skillset but his skillset wasn't suitable to the Knicks system.

KBD is a role player, probably just a minutes eater during a long season to help keep players more crucial to the rotation fresher while not being a complete liability to the team's success. He possesses the skills that Thibs values so likely will find a role in his system.

Nets fans being super salty and sucking copium so hard in every way possible, they should just be happy their franchise finally picked a direction and getting picks, including their own back, this off season. They should just be sweating the lottery balls, not sweating balls over this trade.

Yes, Diop being a minimum contract(not counts) and the Milton sign & trade(does count) along with Diakate(sp?) having some of his contract guaranteed(if I understand correctly) do count towards the salary moving so it shifts the incoming-outgoing salary balance to the Knicks avoid being hard capped at the first apron.

Cam Thomas is way better than Brunson at 22 years old... in leading his team to the lottery. The man can score but contributes nothing to the win column.

Getting a shot at Cooper Flagg is nice and all but these tanking years are gonna be brutal. So Nets fans can act like they fleeced the Knicks all they want, but no Knick fan with a brain wants their franchise to be in your position right now. So who is really winning? Enjoy the picks and years of losing.

All that time their franchise and their fans thought they were going to take New York. They got humbled quick.

I think Diop is gonna surprise us. Thibs can plug him in defensively at any position.

Return to New York Knicks
