Boone had absolutely nothing to do with the Yankees getting to the WS. You can thank the fact that the AL was garbage last season and the fact that the Yankees had one of the easiest two postseason rounds in recent history.

And we shouldn't evaluate Boone based on one season while ignoring the previous six, 6 seasons in which he missed the playoffs once and failed to manage the team passed the Astros, Rays and Red Sox.

I wasn't the greatest Girardi fan, but he got more out of the team with Jayson freaking Nix and Todd .220 Frazier as his 3rd basemen than Boone ever did while managing less talented rosters.

You can place a prime Chipper Jones on this Yankee team and it would not make any difference with the way that Boone manages.

Boone’s not the right coach for the roster tbh. We need a coach that can get the most out of the players, especially because we’re being cheap. Basically, a culture setter, X and Os scrappy type of coach who can lead. Someone who can try to give an underdog mentality…might as well lean into it at this point since we’re not the evil empire anymore.

That’s not Boone. Boone’s strength is that he’s calm and can keep the locker room peaceful and calm. This would work for the modern day Dodgers or Yankees powerhouses of the past, when the Yankees really were seeking dominance. If you give Boone a clubhouse full of alpha dogs who want to win and are hungry to win and filled with professionals like Jeter and Matsui and Mo, then he can be good. He’d probably be good with the Dodgers right now tbh.

But with our team, Boone’s empowerment is a bit of a curse. We did have a culture issue last year…too many dumb mistakes, too little accountability. He only held one guy accountable…Gleybor. That’s it. No one else.

We shall see. Gleyber doesn't scare me at all.

I can't wait to find out what Bellinger/Goldschmidt add to the team and if any of the young guys Martian/Wells/Cabrera etc take a leap up. Also want to see how well the new pitcher does. That's what this season is about for me.

We made the WS on fumes last year. I wonder what we could do with a more productive team. Everyone has the Dodgers winning it all already. As you know, I like to actually watch the games and enjoy being a fan if I am seeing good things.
