Maybe he blocked the entryway with his drum, so no one else could get on... and after he blocked ten passengers from boarding they kicked him out.

GONYK, how would we know the right answer even if we got it? And if only one of this guy's family members knows the answer, then I would assume that no one has been able to figure it out since WWII ??? Cus if someone did, then obviously there would be no need to pass it along on someone's deathbed, the cat would be outta the bag...

I say let's just cut our losses and lock and delete this thread so nobody else falls victim to this.

Because the guy was your friend and he was dead on the 10th block since he told you the riddle, and only one person can know the riddle at a time?

His aunt knows the answer. She will confirm it if I think an answer is right.

He was kicked out because of the litter? (The Lidder). The Riddle anagram = The Lidder. *shrug*

edit: My anwer of the Litter also implies that the drumsticks were food. Of course, "lidder" versus "litter" is probably pushing it.

Definitely NOT an NP-complete problem. A graph has an Eulerian tour iff it's even. ;)

That said, I've got no clue on this riddle...

he didn't have any money. He bought two drumsticks for a dime each add that to the 80 cents and you have a dollar.

He spent 10 cents for both drumsticks

What if the ten cents didn't account for the three extra items he brought on. Two drumsticks and a drum equals three...he got kicked off three blocks short. There was an extra charge for each carry-on that he could not pay...I'm trying.

i have a question, did she implied "tenth block" as number of blocks or does it have some other significant meaning to it?
i think "tenth block" is a place name where he is supposed to get out.

That's a great guess, but you have to remember that he was kicked out.

The streetcar goes 12 blocks in one direction, then turns around (or hits reverse on its tracks). Block 11 becomes the 13th on the mans trip. 10 is 14. They kick him cause he payed for a 13 block ride.

Mean riddle. Simple answer but it's based on a trick and has a lot of distractions.

I don't think that's the answer. Why would he pay to go 13 blocks in the first place if the streetcar only went 12? And why would the streetcar turn around? Not a very elegant solution.

He was obviously black because he had fried chicken. Only black people eat fried chicken.

They kicked him off the streetcar because he was black and during WW(( there was segregation.

riddle solved/green font

The real answer is....

He only had 10 cents left over for the ride after he purchased the drums.

After 10 blocks they threw him out cuz it costed 1 cent a block.

Plus, I'm sure the busdriver was very annoyed with him because he kept playing the drums on the ride over, hence wanting to throw him off.
