I gotta admit, I'm changing my mind AGAIN. Melo's demeanor there is of somebody who thinks he's going to be a Knick eventually. He's pretty relaxed and had a huge grin after making that joke about the Knicks.

This one is pure logical deduction.

When the sides say they want to get a done deal to get the real Melo answer, that likely means they are getting a no answer. If he was saying yes, they would surely take that as the real answer because everybody knows he doesn't want to go to the Nets as his first choice.

Waiting until a a deal is done to get the real answer = We think he'll fold because of the money once we get the deal done.

This one seems clear to me.

People are aginast sending all our assets for him. We need to keep two of the three and throw in another bench player (walker+mason or TD as an example)

The situation is clear.

Carmelo and NY hold all the cards. Denver and NJ have the ability to stymie all of Carmelo and NY's efforts but all we require is patience and we can outlast them both.


The only X-Factor that exists is if a team trades for Carmelo and he either finds the team attractive enough to sign an extension or has enough success that he signs in the summer.

This is a psychological game that's being played and both Walsh and Carmelo know that we can come together in NY this summer if we can't break the Denver GM first.

I feel most sorry for the players getting jerked along with this trade like Billups and so forth. I'm sure Carmelo does too. Sill, be strong and this summer Carmelo is coming to NYC to play with Amare, Felton, Chanlder, Gallo, Fields and co.
