As for the GPA - my mom said that as long as I have a GPA of at least a 3.5, and you do well on the boards, then I can get into a very good law school. I'm trying to transfer now to a different school for junior and senior year so I'm not really sure what would happen in that instance. If I get accepted, should I go? OR should I just stay here and continue to raise my GPA...? Decisions, decisions, decisions.
I am also trying to transfer to FIT since it's signifccantly less than my current school yet it is still a good institution and they have my major. I think you should go for the seniro year like me because we missed a lot of time. You'd jave to get all your info ready, put it in your FAFSA and everything and it takes a long time.
I'm actually trying to transfer to Vanderbilt...I pray every single day I get in.
Just curious, how/why did you decide on becoming an agent? For me, it was two things - 1) I knew that I would never be in the entertainment business or an athlete, so I figured this would be the next best thing 2) I always wanted to be a lawyer lol...my mom always said it showed in the way I spoke and argued as well. Once I learned that I suck at science and could not be a sports doctor (my dad is a doctor, so I was deciding between following in my dad's footsteps or my mom's), being an entertainment/sports agent (contract law) just seemed to make a lot of sense. I also always thought the business side of the sports world was pretty interesting...the behind the scenes stuff with contracts always peaked my interest. But yea, contract law with specializing in entertainment/sport law is where I want to end up.

You will save a lot of money by going to a law school out of state, yes, but you will also miss out on the instruction you would get from attending a school located in New York state.
This is kind of a big deal because the law schools located within a given state often offer classes during your 2L and 3L years that cover exactly the weird, left-field stuff that is particularly tested in that state. And indeed, out-of-state applicants to the New York bar have consistently and significantly lower pass rates than in-state applicants who went to, say, NYU or Brooklyn Law School or something like this.
And that's a big deal because the New York state bar exam is a notorious bastard to pass. It is arguably the hardest in the nation.
Just a friendly heads up, to help shape your decision-making.

I was already planning to but dk where. Was thinking UCLA but idk. Thanks for the insight. But if I get a law degree in such state does that mean I can only practice there?
No no, you can apply for the bar in any state once you get your JD. You just have to take the MPRE beforehand, though. It's a national, standardized ethics exam for future attorneys. Yeah. An ethics exam. For lawyers.
You can take it during your last year of law school if you want. It's no sweat. So get the J.D...MPRE results on file...and then ready, set, fight. You take the bar exam anywhere you want. Good luck!
