I honestly havent read through the entire thread, just saw xrp mentioned a few times. If folks are carrying heavy bags of XRP more power to them, the end of the day XLM and IBM hyperledger is where its at. Many other reasons that I dont want to drag out, there is a sh*t ton of analysis on these two.

My take on crypto is unless you're investing into modern PRACTICAL coins its futile in some ways going forward.Im not rich so I dont even care about buying Bitcoin to have. By the time Crypto truly becomes normal, Bitcoin will be outdated and prob ETH and others as well, and the value will go to schit. When you read up on ICON Cardano and others...they are preparing/prepared for when this actually becomes normal and practical with Blockchain 3.0 tech. Crypto is More than a currency, this is technology, and old tech crypto falls by the wayside. The man power and resources for some of these coins is ridiculous. Something will Take over Bitcoin sooner than later. It has the most name recognition and value, but it's a dying animal. The Media tries to paint altcoins like they a bootleg version of Bitcoin, but thats far from the truth.

I agree with this except for the fact that it will happen sooner rather than later.

I think bitcoin will be top dog for a good amount of time (maybe 7 years at least). Blockchain technology is still closer to its infancy than its prime imol. And until blockchain technology is in its prime, the currency aspect of crypto will be very strong and currencies need a backing, which is what BTC serves as. Until the technology aspect can truly dominate the currency aspect we will be seeing the low tech projects making noise and BTC being the reserve that backs the value of all other crypto.

I prefer if I'm wrong though since all of my holdings are platform coins and projects with practical application.

Ready up some fiat in case the market goes south again.

btc level of support has fallen so i think there's a good chance for me to get in on ven in the .0005's (satoshis) but then again VEN is an animal that will probably end up outperforming the market

Already heading that way. I'm such a dumbass I bought some ETH through a bank transfer accidentally like 10 days ago (instead of using my debit card) and it won't hit coinbase until Wednesday FML

Weiss Announces First Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Grades by U.S. Rating Agency
Risky Crypto Market to Get the Clarity Only Impartial Ratings Can Provide

Palm Beach Gardens, FL — Weiss Ratings, the nation’s leading independent rating agency of financial institutions, will issue letter grades on cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Bitcoin Cash, Cardano, NEM, Litecoin, Stellar, EOS, IOTA, Dash, NEO, TRON, Monero, Bitcoin Gold and many others.

The new Weiss Cryptocurrency Ratings, to be released January 24, are the first by a financial rating agency. They are based on a groundbreaking model that analyzes thousands of data points on each coin’s technology, usage, and trading patterns.

“Many cryptocurrencies are murky, overhyped and vulnerable to crashes. The market desperately needs the clarity that only robust, impartial ratings can provide,” said Weiss Ratings founder, Martin D. Weiss, PhD. “We’re proud to be the first to bring that benefit to investors — to help them cut through the hype and identify the few truly solid cryptocurrencies. Our ratings are based on hard data and objective analysis. But they're bound to create controversy, including some grades that may come as a surprise to some people.”

Weiss Ratings, which began in 1971, rates 55,000 institutions and investments. Unlike Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s, Fitch and A.M. Best, Weiss never accepts compensation of any kind from the entities it rates. Its independence and accuracy have been noted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO), Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times, among others.

Martin Weiss and his lead analysts will be available for interviews at the North American Bitcoin Conference in Miami, January 18–19.
