Dude was super solid last year and ran the team better than Frank and Mudiay. I'm lost at the thought of bringing back LFT when Kadeem can be locked up on a team friendly deal...and a fraction compared to a guy like Cory Joseph who just got 3/37..

I think he will be in a 2way contract.

Or we are waiting to see if someone breaks out in summer league before signing Kareem.

Or we are waiting to see ir he receives others bids to match as a RFA.

Don’t disagree with this...I also dont agree with Chris’ statement that Randle doesnt fit with Kawhi... hes a 35% 3 point shooter at the PF spot, thats respectable enough that you cant collapse off him to cover Kawhi without it costing you. I still do not agree that any of these are “massive overpays”... its hard to have “massive overpay” on people making the MLE or less... Portis and Taj value is not far off what they got either.

For the price of 1 year of Bobby Portis, we could have had Kevon Looney, Willie Cauley Stein, and and about another $5m to use elsewhere.

Do you really think a backup pf/c for $15m/year is not an overpay?


It it what it is, but they definitely overpaid all these contracts, in order to get more team flexibility. They can dump them all next year, and do it again.

K.Looney and WCS wouldn't of signed with us for the prices they signed with a championship team for.

I'm by no means a fan of Perry or Mills but Portis is a much better option than zagnut that is WCS or limited skills of Kevon Looney. If their plan is to move up in the standings to attract free agents then Portis makes a lot more sense as hes more likely to impact wins than either if those 2 guys.

Kadeem is on a 2-way. He’ll probably have his contract converted to a regular deal.

Speed up the game... let DSJr play off the ball more and let RJ beat his opponents with quickness. Payton is the best PG we’ve had in a while.

He can play defense too. Let’s see if his decision making has improved. Definitely a step up from Mudiay.
