It was right in front of us all along.. just thought it would be Mitch instead of DDV with another pick going to Minny.
But end of day, DDV is not stopping you from making this deal.
Towns is a much better fit for this team going forward than Randle and honestly there’s not a single objective viewpoint that could change that.
Love the FO. The last 10 months of moves have been historic. We up to +700 to win the championship (third behind Boston and OKC - who would’ve ever thought

OKC as 2nd title favourites? Thats wild, I like their team a lot but didnt expect they will get that respect so soon

Nothing Randle would be able to do differently there. So not much difference.

It is not relevant. We can put OG or Bridges on Tatum.

I’d prefer DDV over Deuce. That’s a bummer.

I agree defending the Brunson - KAT pnr will be our biggest challenge but having Mikal & OG makes KAT at 5 much better fit. Not many 5s who can stretch the floor like that and have an all around game

Despite his defense he can pretty much fit on any lineup in the league, something I don't think Jules can do with his bully ball play style. This was the right move, I didn't think the team could be called true contenders until the Randle question could be solved (whether it be him fitting in and actually showing something in the playoffs or getting shipped out)

Randle and Gobert are a god awful fit, sucks for minny fans.

On offense KAT isn't anyone's "lite".

I’m glad to hear that from you. We’ll be alright.

From his fake tough guy snarling to the voice stuff, the dude is a straight up cornball that happens to be really, really good at basketball.

Minnesota beat guys talking about him being outstanding in the community, so that's a nice balm, I guess.

Ian Begley:
Knicks, per league sources in touch with team, feel they had a great opportunity to address their biggest need at C in trading for a 4 time All Star & 2-time All NBA player in Karl Anthony Towns. They see Towns, 28, as a great fit with their other high-end talent and someone who complements the rest of the core well, those league sources say. They also feel Towns gives them a strong opportunity for sustained success, per sources in touch with the team. Final details of the trade are still being worked through, per sources.

Fit wise I love the trade... I just wish donte wasn't part of the trade.. I think this was done for 2 reasons julius had no desire to sign the extension and Mitch being out for an extended period of time... my question is who do you put at the 4 if kat is playing the 5 while mitch is out... yes he will play the 4 once mitch is back... but hart or precious is not a good option at the 4... I think they will put precious at the 4 and hart as the backup

Take out Towns and put Precious at 5 on D for easy switching to close that ish out, though we know Thibs would never do that

There were folks on this board trying to CONVINCE me that Randle is better than Towns. Unbelievable the stats people will find to prove a wrong point right.

Don’t worry, you are. But it is still terrible that we’re losing DDV in the process.

iHart boneheaded move to OKC cooked this entire team. now we get to play 5 out, everyone standing around at the 3 while brunson pounds air out the ball.

Towns can't create like Julius. This season was gonna be the most weapons around him ever, he was gonna avg 8+ assists so easily.
NiceLikeChrist wrote:We are going to deeply regret this. We traded away the best player in the trade and still had to give up a great role player AND a pick?

so many people are going to eat their words about randle

Yeah, we are gonna miss Randle’s playmaking significantly.

You know Randle had a 5 for 22 game against Boston last year while 6'4/6'5 Grimes was tasked with guarding their starting 4 Tatum instead of Randle? I'm just saying :-?
