media professionals chose that upnose angle

Who knows, maybe they asked for it. Gives the impression of them being higher than the viewer; like an authority. Even though neither one has proven to be successful at drafting or scouting.

Before the 76rs were a playoff contender they tanked there azz off and wound up with ben/Embiid two young stars going forward.

it works both ways imo but lets not pretend being in the top 3 the chances in obtaining a star isnt greater. If we could swap picks and be in the top 3 right now would you pass on the opportunity?

of course not but thats not what happened. its not 2k where we can reload and simulate till we get the pick we want. again getting a whole staff and team to lose on purpose isnt an option. crying over **** you cant control is just pointless. you have to draft well wherever you pick. not exactky our wheelhouse I know. but it is what it is. complaining about it doesnt change it.

Difference between tanking and trying to win with young guys. Last year we should have been tanking by trying to win with our young guys. But instead we still sucked and played mostly veterans.

so you just wrote all of that talking about not crying over stuff you can't control only to make a point that people need to focus on something they can control (drafting well)? so when they pick carter, there should be no "crying" right?

Sounds like your making a case to shut this place down.

SGA sounds like more of a Fiz type player than Young or Knox do. I wonder if he's higher on our board than we know?

You can have hope. I think the reason why this draft thread is at number 16. Tanker or non-tanker, we're all here.

However, it doesn't mean you can't talk about our team's mistakes. We might be able to draft a stud at 9. It doesn't mean we shouldn't have tanked. It doesn't justify stupid signings or bad strategy. There are posters pointing out that we were a bottom 3 team after KP tanked. They didn't point out that we didn't go all the way in ensuring we were the worst, or that we had a very good chance to be top 7 or 8. Did Enes Kanter actually need all those minutes? THJ? KOQ? Beasley? Do any of these guys even deserve to be with us long-term, or to get victories for us that ruin the long-term? When you're beating the Chicago Bulls for draft position and they're resting their guys, is that really a victory or is it just a moral victory? If we can't trust an FO to draft 1-5 as opposed to 9, shouldn't we be clamoring for their heads? All I ask for is a good process.

So basically, in my ideal world, we draft a stud at 9. The FO also realizes that they were stupid and they made a mistake in not tanking. And we move forward with better decision-making. AND more of our fans realize that tanking was the right move, so they have patience, and are able to influence our FO.

Jalen Brown or even Lonzo Ball if we use it to help them net Kawhi . Probably a few more players you could mention. I wish for a Kyle Kuzma or BW.

Knox speaks on giving Miles the business

“In the Knicks workout, I was really good,’’ Knox said. “Good competition — me, Miles Bridges, Zhaire Smith, Bruce Brown, Hamidou Diallo. All competitive guys going at it 3-on-3. It was really competitive. I was just trying to show a lot of these coaches what I’ve been working on. And that’s what I did at the Knicks workout.

“Yeah, I did pretty well [against him]. He’s a good player — at Michigan State for two years. We went at it two times. It was really good. With the Clippers, we got after it, too. We played really well. We both shot the ball really well. The Knicks workout was really competitive, grinding it out, getting in different situations, going against each other in the post. We just did very well. I’m not going to say he didn’t do good, but I probably did better, according to the coaches. But we both played really well in both workouts and I give him his props.”

“He’s a player’s coach,’’ Knox said of Fizdale. “He gets along with his players really well. He’s a good speaker with a lot of good knowledge about the game. He’s been around LeBron [James], Dwyane [Wade], some of the greats. He knows what he’s talking about. He’s got a lot of knowledge and taught me a lot of new things.”

Calipari compared Knox’s journey to Celtics stud rookie Jayson Tatum, referring to Knox not showing defensive toughness at Kentucky.

“I never knew [Tatum] had that kind of toughness in him,’’ Calipari said. “What I saw [with Boston] he never showed in college. Now you have a skilled, long, tough player who’s a future All-Star. Kevin falls into that same mode right now.“

The second 76ers invite has Knox figuring they are hot for him. He participated in a group workout with Philadelphia last week. This one was a short solo workout with just shooting and ballhandling.

“Coach [Brett] Brown called my agent after the first workout and said he wanted to spend more time with me,” Knox said. “If he wanted me to come back, it shows a lot of interest in me.’’

Not short on confidence, Knox feels he’s the ideal pro.

“Versatility is a big thing in the league now,’’ Knox said. “Guys who can play multiple positions, I kind of fit that mold. I handle the ball, shoot the ball, get to the basket really well. I can take big guys on the perimeter, little guys in the post. I feel the way I can be used I can fit any team.”

Knox, who didn’t speak to media at the combine or after his Knicks soiree, said his draft stock has risen because of the work he did after a season at Kentucky in which he showed some inconsistency.

“The whole summer I went really hard on my game,’’ Knox said. “I wanted to go into these workouts and show the coaches what I’ve really been working on, getting my ballhandling better in pick-and-roll situations, working a lot on my defense this whole summer, playing 1-on-1 against some NBA dudes in my agency [Jakarr Sampson, Derrick Jones] to get my defense better.’’

After a meal with Brown, Knox planned to drive Tuesday night to New York, where he officially will become an NBA player at Barclays Center on Thursday.

I'm okay with how this past season played out other then the ACL injury. The first two months of the season showed that KP has superstar potential. When he comes back 100% we'll at least we have one piece of the puzzle.

There were rumors of Ainge wanting to trade up to 5 to take Bamba, what if he falls all the way until 9? I would trade 9 for Jaylen Brown plus a pick next year, would they?
