One thing is for sure and that's that RJ has an NBA ready body. He's still 18? Well at least there won't have to be too much time spent with worrying about getting him physically ready for the NBA, he can spend most of his off season working on his game

RJ needs to chill! We keep seeing stuff like this, he might get drafted#2.

Whoever we draft is hopefully going to New Orleans anyway. Reason why I'm mostly staying out this thread right now

Listening to that Dunc'd On episode with the deep dive into Barrett makes me want to slam a bunch of heroin, file for divorce, light my house on fire, and remove RJ from my draftboard entirely.

Jesus, I need to take a shower. If he ever does anything even remotely positive in his career these two need to be banned from analysis. That was as thorough a condemnation of a prospect generally accepted as being elite as I've ever heard in my life. They basically just water boarded Barrett, and when he came up coughing and choking when they paused, they forced his head into a full sink until he drowned. Just a total evisceration with no room for a positive outcome.

My whole thing is, how good is AD gonna be for us if we got KD and Kyrie (or, even better, Kawhi)?

Offensively, he's busted down to 3rd option, so his volume will go down a ton, but theoretically his efficiency should increase. But how far off is he from Mitch at that point, like I'm pretty sure Mitch would give us most of what AD would on offense. Then on defense, he's amazing yeah, but realistically, what's the dropoff from him to Mitch? Like, I'm pretty sure again that Mitch does most of what AD would for us. And you get that production at 1/25th the cost, under control for more years, plus whatever other assets we keep, maybe we get some development for them

In a vacuum, you take AD no doubt, but when I think about our situation, I honestly don't think he's that much of an improvement that we need him. Plus, I just like the idea of having homegrown talent on the team, even if they're not the guy I'll enjoy it more seeing, say, RJ Barrett playing alongside of KD and whoever than AD.

all stats are flawed and the eye test only gets you so far
but AD is a two way superstar. One of very few in the league. A guy who can dominate, and does, both sides of the court.

AD may get some better numbers because he's a big but he plays the modern ball style. He's a floor runner, a shot maker, he's a guy who threatens to the 3 point line and can put it on the floor. He has no weaknesses unless you consider his durability.

I dont think we should spend any time worrying about Knox, DSJ, and picks if it gets us a franchise transforming player
I mean, he's gonna get Boshed here

Don't get me wrong, I think he's one of the best players in the league, but his production is gonna nosedive if we get him as the 3rd guy

I just don't think the production we get out of him is gonna be good enough to warrant trading everybody. It absolutely could be, and I'm not gonna be too mad if we do trade for him, just my preference is not to

I couldnt care less how he’s bashed on this board or in the press

If we’re a 50+ win team and he’s our defensive anchor I’m happy and I won’t ever look back at Knox and dsj and the rest with a moment of longing

I always hated the mamba nickname because Kobe named himself that right? Reminds me of T-bone from Seinfeld.

They barely watch college ball and just binge on highlights. They’re cap guys, not scouts.

We're getting Anthony Davis. For the Pelicans the concept of teaming up Zion with RJ is just too good to pass up. They'll both be money makers for them.

For the knicks..when AD is healthy and when KD comes you'll arguably have 2 of the top 5 players in the league on your team. If I'm the knicks...I go hard after K.Leonard. and then you'll have 3 of the top 10 players in the league on your team.

That's not fair.

They raved about his passing (called him underrated), his rebounding, and his competitiveness.

They just didn't brush his flaws under the rug. Obviously, they are not high on him, but what they said should factor in to the math on Barrett.

I don't think he'll get Boshed either.

KD, Kyrie, and AD operate in different parts of the floor. Wade and Bron couldn't really shoot, that is why they forced Bosh to the perimeter. All three guys we're talking about for us score on all 3 levels.

And plus, I don't think it matters who gets underused if we're winning titles.

Not trading he farm for 1 player. I’ve seen how that ends up. Let’s say Kd do come. It’s KD, AD and a bunch of Anthony Carter’s

There would be a third MAX

And if there isn't a third MAX, then we would have money available to sign better players than Anthony Carter.

I'm fine with RJ or a fair AD trade. RJ has grown on me since the lottery due to his 1) work ethic 2) strong family values and 3) undeniable potential. He seems to have as high a chance as anyone at reaching it.
