If by on the ledge you mean you're about to unleash a profanity laced tirade towards the Knicks, by all means go ahead.

In any other context, it's probably unnecessary due to this.

This legit may be the night I decide to make it my life goal to buy the Knicks. I'm not kidding. I'm only 31. I think I can get there in 20 years.

What is the purpose of this signing?

A basketball team needs basketball players. Tim has a outstanding character and has shown improvement while in Atlanta. I agree on the money being a little too much but if he continues to improve who knows.

A team needs basketball players, but they don't have to overpay for seriously flawed ones.

Also, let's be real, what did Timmy really improve on while in Atlanta?

He's still 1 dimensional. He still doesn't defend. He's still not a great 3 point shooter.

His ability to slash and finish while taking contact for starters. The guy is not a two way player by any means, but his ability to get in the lane and stroke the three give him at least 2 dimensions. And again he has a great character and will be a good leader for the young guys.

I need to see the Melo and Lee trades before I completely give up. But I am super close.

They would've been making fun of the deal even if the Knicks offered him a penny.

It means Timmy will play great for us.

Still watching ATL? lol

Figured we were both bout to get to sleep after the BAT list came out and here we are talking about this Timmy deal...Knicks won't even let us sleep in July

First of all, there is no bright side. Absolutely none. Don't play yourself.

Second, this tells me Mills really wanted this guy. He missed out on Waiters. So he gave him this absurdly generous contract to make sure ATL doesn't match. He wants THjr here, thats for certain.

What I still can't figure out is why?

This wouldn't be such a bad deal if he was paid $12-14M per season. The Hawks system disguised Hardaway Jr's weaknesses.

He's a little better than he was as a Knick but even as a Hawk he was getting burned regularly on defense.

So much for a vet PG who will groom Nicotine. Steve "The Mighty Wind" Mills strikes!

That's not true at all. He's a fine, young player but he's not a fit for us due to the fact that we're A) rebuilding and B) shedding salary. That contract is atrocious.

While we're at it, why don't we go turbo New York Knicks and trade 3 first round draft picks for Marc Gasol.

Even if Marc Gasol leaves and if we give up a few #1-#2 picks after he exits, it's worth the risk! He will help us get wins, and maybe we can even SQUEAK INTO THE PLAYOFFS!!!!

Every time I think about this contract I forget about the player option and the damn kicker. Just so stupid.

I'm going for executive right now. I'm going to grad school for this. Lets make it happen.

In a positive light, THJ grew a lot as a player last year. Still offensively minded, but we'd have him during prime of career.

The crazy thing is we're probably going to go into the season with Baker and Frank as our only PGs, which is kind of scary. Baker could barely bring up the ball last season, and Frank exhibited a loose dribble in France :o Even if we want to tank, we still need someone to actually bring the ball up and run the offense.

Maybe they can trade O'quinn and/or Courtney Lee for a legit mentor type PG (no idea who that would be though at the moment) or clear the cap space and sign Rondo or Mack (free agent PG's) or and I know but maybe Rose gets no better offers and comes back on a one year deal.
