Like the contracts are so big for KD and they want to win now. I just think depth is going to be more important in the East while Star talent is still more important in the west.

They could.

Knicks would get Divincenzo back but the remaining assets from Minny would go to a 4th team and we would get the 4th team's assets in exchange

I’m having a hard time figuring out what Minny gives up for Durant that makes it interesting for the Suns.
I can see KAT being an important aspect of these talks.

KAT isn't going anywhere with his contract, besides the fact that Rose would be admitting he made a mistake in trading for him.

wasn't a mistake regardless if he trades him

1. Had we not made the trade, we would have gone into the season with Jericho Sims and Hukporti as our ONLY available centers to start the year. Harteinstein was gone, Mitch was injured, Precious was injured. KAT saved the Knicks to start the season. The roster was imbalanced after the Mikal trade. We had to trade Randle for a Center.

2. Knicks in fact became a better team with KAT than they were the previous season with Randle. Now the Knicks have an opportunity to improve yet again by trading KAT.

My theory in the KD interest: Knicks want to position themselves to go after Luka in 2026. KD, Bridges, and Robinson contracts are set to expire in summer of 2026. This would be a soft reboot to re-tool around Brunson. The cap is going to increase by 2026 so we might not need to let go Bridges if he’s able to take a team-friendly deal. But that’s my theory with the KD interest.

Al Horford can easily start with KAT and solve a lot of our problems.

He's on the decline and another year added to those legs isn't going to help. Find someone like Al Horford, but not actually this version of Al Horford.

KAT and Booker were college roommates and best buds. The reason Phoenix would want KAT is to pair him with Booker.

Minny coveting Durant makes it seem like there's a 3 team trade for sure. But what would we get? Randle and Divo back lol? I actually would not be opposed as hilarious as that would be. I think it gets back the chemistry we lost from the trade. We'd be back to needing a center again but at least Mitch is healthy now.

Randle doesn't want NY.

Knicks arent trading KAT who was like 10th in MVP voting for Peanuts. He is a great player but just it turns out not a great fit with Brunson .

Phx isnt getting KAT without us getting a big piece. Goebert and/or Divo can not be the biggest fish of that deal.

That trade inthe tweet above is crazy. Knicks want no part of Zion. Way too much risk, character issues, weight issues, and severe health issues.

I’d switch out Zion for Trey Murphy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kat for herb jones & Trey Murphy would be my dream scenario Tbh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brunson Luka didn’t work before. Both ball dominate Gs. Won’t work.

As someone who lives in Philly and was here while Horford was here, we should stay far away from him. He's never been good outside of Boston in the second half of his career. His wife is very outspoken (which is fine btw) but she got in multiple spats with fans in Philly and was miserable outside of Boston. Maybe NYC is different but, why take risk on an ancient guy who looked pretty bad on the whole playing against us?

If we're going to go for an aging big man, then Brook Lopez makes a lot more sense to me. He's a defensive scheme fit for Thibs and is excellent Mitch insurance. He is happy spotting up for threes (which we desperately need) and doesn't demand touches.

KAT
Hart

For

Murray
Murphy
Herb

Murray gives them another ball handler who can defend on the perimeter. Herb and Murphy are self explanatory.

Would probably need a big with the MLE or move McBride or Bridges for another big.

KAT is too good a player to only get role player level pieces for. While not terrible, I kinda feel we can do better. Admittedly though, the roster construction does seem to fit better defensively with this proposal.

Until the Celtics cooked that combination like the Pacers did when we had 2 defensively deficient players on the floor.

And at his age splitting minutes with Mitch works for both of them. But would Horford play for a MLE or whatever contract we could fit?

And he is getting old.

Ya you forgot McBride and Murray. Deep ass team. Sign Brook. Move up using cash or fuyure 2nds to early R2 and take Ryan Kalkbrenner. Dude can shoot, defend.

Brunson / Murray / Kolek
Bridges / McBride / Murray / Shamet
Murphy / Herb / Dadiet / McCullar
OG / Herb / Kalkbrenner
Mitch / Brook / Kalkbrenner / Hukporti
