Such a Mets like thing, good pitching for years with mediocre offense. Finally get the offensive pieces and our pitchers start to underperform.

Jeff McNeil is one of the best hitters in baseball. Period. I've seen enough. And I have no doubt his power number will increase naturally as his career progresses. What a joy it is to watch him hit. His approach at the plate, his knowledge of the strike zone, his ability to work the count put the solid part of the bat on the ball and usually hit the ball very hard somewhere. Oh and he doesn't strike out much.

btw the guy that has sources say mets have increased dialogue with both kimbrel and keuchel, they have real interest in signing one.

Keuchel would be a signing that benefits both parties. Kimbrel would only diminish his value if he agrees to be a setup man.

I'm betting on Keuchel.

Oh, by the way, Gagnon looked good last night in relief.

Gagnon deserves another good look in a high leverage situation. The guy used to throw smoke. But his curve looked really good last night. It's all about consistency. I don't think he was ever considered to be a high-level talent.

As for Keuchel vs. Kimbrel, I'm thinking Keuchel but I don't have any of the necessary details to make an informed decision on that.

Neither will be signed before June 1st. Team can keep their pick if they just wait another month. Any smart team is gonna wait until June.

These are the Mets im used to. 1-0 win where the pitcher has to go 9 shutout innings and help his cause with a RBI.
