The delusional fans are the ones thinking we can get anything of any value back for STAT. You don't sell when your stock is at its lowest value. STAT has had a terrible season, marred with injuries and off-court issues. Lets see what he looks like next year.
Yep. It's next to impossible to move him right now unless the Knicks want to either take back even bigger contracts (Joe Johnson) or some combination of crap that has large contracts just to shave a year off wha they owe Stoudemire (like Ben Gordon and Charlie Villaneuva). Their best bet is to hope (expect) Stoudemire to recover from back problems (funny that his knees are the one thing that has endured) and get closer to being the 2010 Stoudemire instead of the relatively awful 2011 version. THEN they may be able to move him for something that has more value.
With the MLE going to Lin Grunwald will need to be creative to try to add the necessary supporting cast via mostly just vet minmium signings. If they can convince Jackson to coach this team then what that does is create a pull that could get them more guys willing to jump on for the vet minimum than they would with Woodson AS WELL AS Jackson being experienced in getting personalities...like Melo and Stoudemire...to get on the same page to win championships (it's really what he's best known for which really can't be understated here as far as the 2 "stars" being out of whack with one another. Lin is going to have to show that Linsanity is here to stay and Shumpert continue to progress as a potential lockdown defender to anchor their defense with the one consistent positive this season...Tyson Chandler. A starting 5 of Chandler, Stoudemire, Anthony, Shumpert and Lin is no joke...that's some serious wattage there. Would love to see what a championship caliber head coach (and a more reliable training staff) can do with this group.
