Remember this?

http://www.tmz.com/2010/07/07/tmz-live- ... rk-knicks/

TMZ's NBA Insider -- LeBron's Going to the Knicks
Sorry Cleveland ... and Chicago ... and New Jersey ... LeBron James is headed for the New York Knicks ... at least according to Phoenix Suns superstar (and TMZ special reporter) Jared Dudley.

Jared just phoned into TMZ Live ... and revealed that his top secret NBA sources have information directly from the Knicks ... that LeBron has informed team officials that he will be joining the team.

Check out the audio and listen to the whole thing. LeBron is expected to make his "official" announcement tomorrow evening.

That's what I think about the "sources."

OK let me ask you honestly and without bias -- you don't think it's wrong for Melo to call a player who may still be on his team (we hope) a "ridiculous contract"? That's not being selfish and/or a bad teammate?

KG.....for the last, last, LAST fu*king time already he is not calling out his teammate, the same teammate who he talked to Pringles to put in, the same teammate who he tried to help on the court when he made mistakes.

No, what Melo is talking about is Houston making a ridiculous poison pill contract that could cause problems in the Knicks future financially.

Possible details of Blazers-Knicks deal could be Knicks sending Kostas Papanikolaou to Blazers and $$ to help pay for Jeffries' $3.1M salary

This guy is wrong more times than he is right so I wouldn't get too upset over anything he says until it comes from a reliable source.

I'm wondering if this deal has anything to do with the Minny deal for Batum. JJ could help cover the SF position for a year I suppose if Minny ever submits an offer sheet for Batum and the Blazers decide to not match.

I would have expected them to say something like "Jeremy's a really important part of this team, I hope we do everything we can to bring him back, but I know it's a tough contract to match."

But that hasn't happened.

Im no Lin fanboy, but it will be pretty obvious that if we do not match, this is all on Melo.

Please, Dolan wants to match and loves the marketing and money he brings in, but let's be real, Melo and his camp are in his ear 24/7.

Calling a 3yr/25M contract ridiculous for a fan favorite is pretty dumb when you are making 64.5M over the same period of time.

no thats being honest, it is a ridiculous contract we all know that

So should players who have teammates who are playing badly say, "He sucks right now. Just sucks"?

They are being honest.

So I ask you, honestly and with no emotion, is it being a good teammate to say the above about a teammate who is struggling?[/quote]

If its like that then amare sucks balls right now.

You know what I'm tired of? The constant upheaval. We constantly dump and add significant pieces every off-season...every half-season. I feel like the better course of action is just stick with the same group of guys and build off that group.

Are we seriously going to have Fat Felton run this team?

Lin kind of screwed us when he signed that offer sheet knowing that it would hurt us in year 3 so we should match the offer sheet and put his ass on the bench until he's eligible to be traded and get a couple of 1st round picks for him.

Imma step off now and go install a floor. My drama measuring device is smoking and screeching at this point.

I'll check back later and see if people have cooled off, but somehow I see that possibility as remote. Continue crying and buying media spin. The media loves you because you are gullible.

I would argue that Lin overachieved. I don't see him finishing at the same level he did and he takes such a beating i'm not sure he's going to consistantly healthy throughout his career.

As far as Felton goes, I think that "fatness" had a lot to do with the lockout. He didn't really know when or if the season was going to start so he couldn't really get into a consistent training regime. At least thats my educated guess

Really? Felton's fatness had to do with the lockout? How come the rest of the league didn't have this problem? It's fine if you think Lin overachieved. A lot of people do think that. I believe Lin can and will improve. That's what I choose to believe. But you lost me with Felton's fatness having to do with the lockout. If most other NBA stars did not have a problem maintaining their weight during the lockout, how come Felton did?

thats hardly the same thing. He didnt say Lin sucks and he didnt sya the Knicks shouldnt match. He just said its a ridiculous contract, its not like everyone including Lin, the Rockets, and the Knicks dont already know that.

That type of contract, is called, in established NBA vernacular, a "poison pill" contract.

Its very name suggests a consensus that being "ridiculous" in the last half is the ENTIRE point.

I think its entirely possible that Carmelo Anthony didn't use language specifically invoked to areveal his feelings about Lin, nor do I think its necessarily a moment of unfiltered honesty.

I think it's entirely possible he simply casually and off the cuff used a word that generally describes the nature of the contract.

The argument is Melo should have not used that word for no other reason to avoid this reaction is a circular one. It assumes Melo knew they're be this reaction.

There wouldn't be as much of a backlash if we chose Nash or CP3 over Lin. We're doing this for RAYMOND FELTON, for God's sake. For God's sake...

Players should always say no comment regarding other players contract matters. It's just common sense.
