In an ideal world, we get the #3 pick and get to choose between Paolo and Jaden Ivey. We however, do not live in one.

So, realistically we have selections 6-8:

Jonny Davis, AJ Griffin, Sheadon Sharpe, Jalen Duren

Unless we move into the top 4, I think it's gonna be TyTy

We need a PG, he's the only one slated to go in that range (for now, it could change), and of course, the Kentucky connection

Either him or Keegan Murray

But realistically, it's likely whoever we pick doesn't start unless they're a PG. Maybe if we draft a C with our top pick, but even then, I'd put my money on us starting Noel if he's healthy in an attempt to justify the contract we gave him, or to showcase him to try and trade him.

I wouldn’t mind coming out of this draft with Shaedon Sharpe. If he played this year he probably would’ve been a top 4 pick. Super talented kid.

I mean that was against San Francisco...who has little to no talent. Chet is one of the best prospects in the draft but a San Fran highlight video does nothing for me.

Saint Mary's just rendered him pretty much ineffective in his last game...he has had some clunkers vs higher comp.

I agree. He's been up and down vs top competition. But the potential is there. He would actually be a great fit here (If Mitch is gone). The floor spacing would become so much better for RJ and Randle (if he's still here).

Since Mitch is gone the Knicks should draft Jalen Duren. Athletic mobile center nice physical profile, probably better than Mitch on day 1. I saw him make a jumpshot on memphis in a highlight video. I saw tankathon has him down at 12th now after a disappointing season he was originally top 3 so this is our chance!

Next year's draft is loaded with PGs.

Don't think they use the draft to address PG IMO. Feel like they'll make a trade for a passable to good vet or find a way to get space to sign Brunson.

Don't think this FO has any desire to wait out a PG developing, especially, one that is not a slam dunk pick which Tyty is certainly not. They could very well be gone after next year if the team disappoints.

So Keegan Murray it is then

And he'll take Obi's spot as Randle's 12 mpg backup.

 Never said it was the best decision, but realistically this FO has shown that they prioritize pull up shooting in the draft and that they like to draft wing/combo guards who have really translatable skills.

Murray fits the bill from a shooting aspect for sure, but, hopefully, they aren't looking to draft another PF unless they are looking to trade Obi...

Think they might go with Mathurin from Arizona. Has shot it well throughout college. Has a little more experience than a one and done. He's Canadian lol.

Could also see them trading down if they fall in the 8-11 range and picking up an extra asset since there are a litany of wings and bigs in the 11-25 range of this draft.

Could also see them drafting a Mitch replacement given how extension talks have gone

Yeah I'd be more than fine with Sharpe. Sharpe isn't likely to play college ball this season so his value will probably be a little under the radar. He's the no.1 ranked player in his class and has a lot of talent on both ends of the floor. And since he's technically a member of the Kentucky Wildcats, that whole Kentucky connection still applies lol. Oh and he's from Canada as well (only a couple hours drive from where RJ grew up) so we may be able to have a Canadian Dynamic Duo going forward with RJ.

"He's easy to play with (offensively). He doesn't hunt his shots (i.e. doesn't dominate or hog the ball) but he scores big points."

If they can't get Ivey or one of the top bigs, Sharpe is the next guy on the list for me. The Knicks need more potential upper tier talent and this guy has that potential after you get past the big 3 or 4.

Yeah, Jaden Ivey is almost the perfect player for what this team needs.

Which is why you know what the deal is going to be right?

With the 8th pick in the 2022 NBA draft the New York Knicks select...

Just be prepared for it (won't be Ivey cause he'll be long gone).

They need to take BPA and look to move Randle. If that's Duren then fine but they shouldn't be focused on position over BPA. It's not like Thibs will play that player much unless it's a top tier guy like Ivey or Jabari Smith.

I was gonna say that replacement sh*t is how we ended up with Obi.

Don’t get cute just get great talent, even better would be getting a PG who can orchestrate the offense.

If we get Sharpe, our Wing Rotation is set for the foreseeable future. Grimes, IQ (he's not a PG guys he’s a small wing), Sharpe, and RJ are super talented and have a ton of potential.

Which college player just isn't that good? I'm going to focus my attention on the guy the Knicks are seriously considering.

If the Knicks have the #8 pick and Sharpe is available at #5, I would be up for trading both #8, 40 picks and IQ to move up to draft him.
