Kessler is not realistic having to deal with Ainge.

They could be cooking or it’s a sign they got caught off guard and are currently trying to make it make sense.

they absolutely have to have known this was a very likely possibility. They had the 4/72 offer on the table the minute the finals ended. He had a while to accept that so he clearly didn't accept and new bigger offers were out there and was going to test FA. So they should of had a backup B, C, and D plan to execute.

Duece is a very good asset. Its not like we are just trading him meh picks. This would be a guy he can plug into there starter/rotation ASAP.

I think because Will Hardy (coming from BOS) prefers 5 out. They even tried to get Kessler to shoot 3's which is sort of ridiculous.

I feel like Duece instantly becomes a starter or a key 30 minute a night piece for them who fits alongside a higher usage guard like Sexton

they don't have any 3pt guards that can also shoot. I think the fit there is great tbh. Couple that with Kessler falling a bit out of favor...seems like a good match.

Duece is probably our best pure 1 stopper.

I don't know if I want to give that up. Give them 2 firsts and Rokas

We don’t have our own firsts we have the wizards and pistons protected picks that don’t have a lot of value and Rokas might as well be nobody. And Ainge is going to give us the best rim protector in the NBA

We have our even year picks in 26.28.and 30.

Yes, but Ainge hordes picks like there’s no tomorrow, and we don’t have them.

We can not trade them. Only swap them

Knicks probably had a strong impression IHart was leaving. Begley is their mouthpiece and he has basically maintained that stance for weeks now.

They have been working behind the scenes for sure and have a Plan B. Now maybe that Plan B was sticking with Mitch and letting Randle play some minutes at the 5 to have all our top scorers on the floor at once:

Randle
OG
Bridges
Divo
Brunson

I would prefer Plan B to be one of:

Bidatze
Kessler
Richards
or even Saric

We will likely know in a couple days or so (or even sooner)

This doesn't work for 1 HUGE reason: When Mitch is on the bench for a game or two, we can't use Randle the whole game at the 5.

We can’t trade those picks because the stepien rule though. could offer a pick swap in 2026 and 2030 I guess. We traded the 2028 pick swap to the nets

I stand corrected. McBride, Rokas and 2026 swap and the Det FRP, and Wash FRP then. McBride has strong value.

There is just enough cap space under the 1st apron to spend the $5 mil taxpayer MLE.

I honestly don’t think they have a way to go over that apron unless the trade with the Nets expand more than most people think.

We also have the draft rights to the 4 rookies we just drafted. McBride alone should be able to get us a guy like Kessler, if we want to go that route. If Ainge would take McBride alone, then that swap would make sense because Kessler gives us 24 mins while McBride probably gives us 10-15 mins.

The cap is so pathetically and needlessly complicated that it makes following the offseason annoying. I have no idea what we can or can’t do. I don’t even know if this guy is right but I have no choice but to go by what he says.

I think the NYK will trade Burks in a S&T to a 3rd team as part of the Mikal Nets trade and we'll then have access to our full MLE ($12m) which we'll use to get a guy like Goga or split on two guys. Then we'll also try to retain Precious on a 2-year or 3-year deal using our bird rights for added depth and to be used as a future trade chip (salary matching). Leon is all in... he's probably willing to go into the 2nd apron to maximize our title chances this season and next. He was willing to do it for iHart...
