Totally agree with Nick here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All the games so far have been boring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The nba is dying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2s to 3s
and 3s to 4s

thats the right change. and if we're invoking baseball rules, one thing that 1000% needs to happen is a shot clock on FTs. baseball has proven you can make the rule harsh and strict with no recourse. once the ball touches the FT shooter, he has 5s just like an inbounds. ref verbalizes 4s and 5s.

changing the arc will create a lot of unintended consequences for spacing. it could have a serious anti-effect where scoring goes massively down bc teams can just play zone up top extremely well due to the fact that your offensive players have to be much closer together in order to even shoot a three.

The league has major issues but I don’t think basketball is dying. TNT had its most watch opening night since 2017. The problem is that the most watched means like 3 million viewers. Which is very good for something on cable these days but compared to the nfl it’s like 17% of their usually ratings. NBA is very popular on social media, iirc it gets more hits than the nfl but it’s not even close ratings wise. Especially with the slow death of linear tv the NBA is even more important to broadcasters than ever cuz they need those 3 million eyeballs. That’s why they’re ditching Warner for NBC and Amazon. You can get nbc for free and pretty much everyone has a prime account. Next year there’s going to be 3 games on broadcast tv. The thing I’m curious is how many people watch games on illegal streams. Maybe there’s a lot of missing audience on stream east but I’m skeptical.

The hope is I do think load management is an issue but half the nfl gets hurt every season and they keep chugging along just fine. Guess stars matter less in the nfl.

He’s 100% right about the 3 point shot and it’s something I’ve talked about with DOT on here before. Theres just no way they’re going to switch 2’s to 3’s and 3’s-4’s. It be like making it 4 strikes to get a batter out in baseball. That’s just not something that’s going to happen. It might be worth moving the line back in general along with getting rid of the corner 3. Don’t really have any other answers on how to fix the nba.

It's not just because they're cheaper, it's because they can play with Zion. The Pelicans would rather have Dejounte Murray as a ball handler than Ingram, and those two guys can play off the ball within a system, to this point Ingram has never shown that he can do that. It's never a good sign when a guy can only play well when he's the center of the offense.

And there's no way to know if we would have been better with him instead, what we do know is that his team seems content with letting him walk for nothing if it comes to that.

They were trying to move Ingram before they got Murray. It's mainly because they don't want to pay him. When Ingram and Zion played together they were like top 5 in the west I think.

I still rather have him over Mikal by far. He destroyed him in the playoffs.

They want to move him because he does not play at his best with Zion, they got Murray to help the offense and get Trey/Jones involved, because Ingram doesn't really do that. He's a ball stopper that gets assists simply because he has the ball a lot, and he inexplicably has more touches with the ball than Zion. In the time they've been together he's averaged more touches per game in all but 1 season, that is just crazy.

When Ingram and Zion play together, he drops down to 22ppg, which for a scoring wing isn't someone you want to give max money to. Especially not when he wants the ball more than your franchise player and is a reluctant 3 point shooter, the Pelican fans complain about him passing up threes like we do Hart. You may want Ingram, but so far it doesn't seem like anyone is beating down the Pelicans door to get him, we know for certain that teams were offering 4 first round picks for Mikal when the Nets got him and we gave up even more. As for the playoffs, Mikal was a 4th option and still managed to average 17ppg in that series guarded by Ingram on 55% and 53% from three.

Pelicans were 33-22 with Zion and Ingram last season. Pelicans are better when both of them are on the floor. Not bad if he's averaging 22 PPG 5 APG on 47/38/84 splits.

So far this season it looks like we got a broken Mikal while Ingram is about to have a career year.

Oh, is Julius Randle adapting his game to what his team needs to be successful? I’m shocked. It’s only something he’s done every single season.

With the ability to watch all of the games in October comes the discovery that October games suck.

In the early 80s the NBA finals was on tape delay. Now we can view all the early season pistons hawks games our little hearts desire.

They're 145-143 with Ingram in his career and were well under .500 together until last season with him and Zion on the floor. It makes no sense to keep him, which is why they're willing to let him go or trade him.

So far? It's one game
