captain subtext wrote:The thing is: We need another Slam Dunk in the 2011 Draft to somehow have a chance to make this team better in the future.

Also, it pains me an awful lot to see three players go that clearly had the NYK in their heart.

Thats the thing, they took SO much pride, if this goes through.. im going to miss them for their passion and will to win and be apart of something we havent seen in a while

I'm telling you Hahn has sources saying they were spotted in back sitting on a couch with a bottle of wine in hand watching t.v. laughing hysterically. Sources could only make out a few words from their laughter: New Jersey Nets and Derrick Favors were heard while pointing and laughing.

My thoughts on the Felton-for-Billups part of this:

Advantages:

-Billups already knows how to play with Carmelo and gets along well with him.
-It would also give us a very steady, intelligent back-court with Billups Fields.

Disadvantages
-Felton has been playing 38 minutes per game. Billups has only been playing 32. That's a problem.
-Felton is highly motivated. It remains to be seen whether Billups would be.
-Felton is someone we could potential keep beyond his 2 year contract if no Paul/Williams. Billups, on the other hand, will probably be too over-the-hill at that point.

This better have a cp3 attachment to it or this is too much to give up. We're in a position of strength, and we give up this much??? I can understand having to part with AR, Gallo, Chandler... but Felton too? Do people realize we're giving away 52 pts a game??

How can it have a cp3 attachment if this trade goes done like this. Wht will we use to trade for him? This is a guttage and I'm sick to my stomach that most cat here sound like excited school kids over it.

You're not the only one. After 40+ years watching this team...enough is enough. When Amare begins having issues, this deal will look very different - but the Knicks will be capped out in perpetuity - again, but with few real assets.

Honestly...I've been addicted to this team, and it's time to end that addiction. Life's just too short.

I have been a fan, going to games since 1981... I have longed for the day when we stopped trying to get aging stars, Kiki vandewe, truck robinson, Jammin James bailey, etc... and grow our own stars... I am now convinced that this day WILL NEVER, EVER HAPPEN..... Yea, I am a huge gallo fan, but come on, gallo, chandler, felton, 5 virgins, 10 picks, stock in cablevision, ellis island, the hamptons, free tickets to every event at Radio city music hall, the rights to stand off the piers at the south street seaport and piss in the river, the statue of the wall street bull, and oh yea, walt fraizier has to announce 20 denver games per year, for free..... we got hosed in this deal as reported.. Melo isn't lebron, he isn't wade and those are the kinds of players you consider gutting your team for... what would make me happy is after this deal, that walsh retires.. not because I don't think he is a good GM. I think he is great.. But as a sign of protest..and honestly from that point on, the knicks can sink into the abyss of mediocrity for all I care...

tkf.

be careful. i think dolan's meeting with melo foreshadowed much of this. We dont know if there was an ultimatum. We dont know if cp3 is waiting in the wings. Hell, DENVER MIGHT JUST REJECT THIS OFFER.

I love gallo, you know i do, but Melo playing next to an elite post player is scary.
