We have the best chance at AD IF we get the #1. But Zion is predicted by most experts to be a generational talent, and I drool every time I watch a Duke game. HE'S ONLY 18!!! AD is tempting as hell but I don't know if I'd be that quick to trade Zion. If the other two Max cats insist on AD then I'd have to capitulate, but other than that I dunno. Am I cray?

I'm with you. I think I take Zion over AD. Especially since I think NOLA will ask for more assets on top of the pick.

Not gonna lie.. it would be an extremely tough decision for me deciding on keeping Zion or trading for AD if it came to that

extremely. AD is a proven commodity. top 5 player by any measure. really top 3 IMO. zion is the most exciting prospect since lebron (ironically surpassing AD) and would be rookie scale. but you don't know what he becomes. if AD is on the table for that and you've already locked in 2 max... and the third max could be AD... you go contend for that chip.

my boy sound like a prisoner who just got freed

“I’m loving it. It’s a lot of free play,” Smith said following his first practice with the Knicks on Monday. “Coach Fiz, he’s putting a lot of [trust] in me. That’s something he told me he was gonna do. That’s not saying to go out there, and I’m not gonna coach you. He’s gonna coach you hard, but at the same time he’s giving you the opportunity to play basketball. I couldn’t ask for a better position than that.”

“I’m still adjusting. It’s my third day out here. I’m still in the hotel right now,” Smith said. “It’s a lot of adjusting going on, but I’m in here every day. That’s the main thing. Be in the gym as much as possible, and everything else will come around.

“I’m super excited to be a Knick, and I want to give my all for the organization. … We got a lot of young talent, a lot of young, hungry guys trying to prove themselves in the league, and I fit right in with that.”

Carlisle runs a tight ship. Dennis will absolutely benefit more from a less structured offense that puts the ball more in his hands.

Question for you guys... if you're the Celtics - Do you go ahead & trade Kyrie NOW, knowing you may not be able to resign him later & allowing you to get something in return! Interesting article below noting the Celtics aren't exactly happy with the all-star PG

*note - I'm not suggesting we trade for him... just curious what you all think the Celtics should do. Remember they gave up a first (and what turned out to be little else) to get him. Many, including myself, do not expect Kyrie to resign. Do they make a run at it anyways? Interesting developments going on in Boston.

if i have a feeling he's not coming back, i cash him in.

if i think my team can contend for a title now, i don't. i play it out.

what could the celtics get that's worth their while? a couple of picks and a bad contract in exchange? what contender has the expirings and desire to risk having to convince him to stay?

If you can put Kyrie/AD/Durant together - there's no way you don't do it because as the old cliche goes... A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Proven commodity over what may be. imo

I think lot of people are misinterpreting what these "rival executives" are saying. They are simply saying that the Knicks [Scott Perry, Milles, Dolan] believe they are getting Kyrie and KD. These "rival executives" are not saying they believe Kyrie and KD are joining the Knicks.

and ironically, not to derail, i think frank would look better under a system guy and taskmaster like carlisle. kind of funny. hopefully they both pan out as knicks.

Zion is not Wiggins. You don't trade that type of talent on a rookie contract. Even for AD.

If you land Kyrie, KD, and Zion... you have to trade Zion for AD. Opposed to popular belief, there is bust potential in Zion. Anthony Davis is not a completely proven Superstar, but if you have him as a third option, that is insane. Everything will fall into place after that.

Depth might be a problem for the first year. But you will get a lot of veterans ring-chasing for veteran minimums, MMLE, and MLE.

how do any of us know that? wiggins is a great example against your point in that he was perceived a generational talent too. then the NBA happened.

Hypothetically, if I'm trading Zion, I'm not trading the rest of my assets. A deal centered around him, with a couple of picks and young player should be enough.
I feel the Lakers need to give all those assets up due to being in the same conference and the individual parts aren't that great.
