Re: Around the NBA: Trades, Transactions, and Taj Threads
This is a classic short-sighted disgruntled NBA star (not to be confused with superstar) move....
Butler basically is tired of Thibs' intense, gnaw your butt till your legs give out intensity. Wants the "super" star treatment even though he never really was one.
Now, he DEMANDS:
1. A trade to MY team of choice.
2. Doesn't care what the other team gives up. Doesn't care what Minnesota gets in return.
3. The extension better be ready when I get to preferred destination.
Except....Jimmy Butler is NOT that "je ne sais quois" player who can elevate every one's game to elite status. He's a good to really good player but not transcendent.
Again, see you in Brooklyn Jimmy! D'Angelo Russell and Jimmy Butler back court will be fun on 1/2 price tickets at Barclays.

The other side of that story reads:
He in fact is a superstar and has had enough of those soft youngsters that fail living up you their talent. Moreover I believe he wants his coach to be tougher on those guys too, but it doesn't happen as the wolves are afraid of losing Towns.
Butler is a number one option on any team outside San Francisco or Houston (literally), but for us the situation is simply that he is too old to give up value. Hardaway and Lee easy, picks no.

Knicks are being constructed and instructed how Phil wanted but never knew how to built it
Triple post offense, position-less ball, dribble penetrations and hard cuts, transition defense, side pnr, bigs that shoot, aaanddd size and length
Now lets draft Zion and sign either KD or Kawhi

Strength and Honour!

High praise from crawford. Those were some crappy knicks teams, but he's one of my favorite "NBA people". It'd be cool to see him retire here on a good team.

KAT's team struck while Minny is trying to put out fires and avoid losing their stars.

More like ownership picked Towns over Butler and Tom Thibodeau.

He's a superstar only in his own mind. With the plethora of TERRIBLE teams, it's a no-brainer that he'd be the #1 option in a place such as Detroit. Even if the Knicks didn't give up a player, he'd be only good enough to get the Knicks to the second round.
This is why the papers have linked Butler with Kyrie Irving when it comes to the Knicks.
Definitely not worth $190M.
