You could be right on Ja his frame/injury proneness is still up for debate... Mitch is just touching 25 years old, quite durable and has an elite 3 level game. Has strong traits to play better defensively as well under a defensive minded HC in Thibs. He is right there on the top 10 cusp for young players to build a team with.

He'd be playing with the best PG he has ever had and probably at least 2 complementary scorers better than he had in Utah.

Loved H2O.... but Spidah is a better all around player than Houston was. LJ was still really good but definitely on the back end of his career and not as explosive due to the back.

I would agree. I think they have to play this right though. It is clear the path they are taking is using assets to get stars because the refuse to use the draft and they can't attract the stars. Also ..they won't have cap space to sign any after this even without a DM trade.

The assets left after a DM trade would have to be worthy of adding "the final piece". Whoever that is. If they don't get DM...they will have to wait for another star to become available. Running on the treadmill until that happens. Randle may help get that done so... dumping him for scraps won't be a good idea.

I am ok if the Mitchell trade doesn't happen but, I want it to. As long as it isn't a bad deal. This is a tricky path to build a contender as it is. They can't afford to make the same mistakes they did after the Melo trade. It wasn't his trade that killed everything. It was deals made after the fact that did. Paying Billups only to amnesty him instead of Amar'e. Not waiting for CP3. Bargs trade. Etc.

I hope they get it right. I'm tired of the same old BS around here.
