Exactly what I came to post. He out. Big situational.

Burks can't seem to get rid of the losing mentality in Detroit. He plays like the outcome doesn't matter, just ball.

Fully healthy, Burks should only be in if we're in an offensive rut and need a bench player to shake things up.

I think that’s the situation

Get well soon Randle . And OG

The problem is that even with those players, it's a scheme issue, the coach is doubling guys who don't need it which is leading to open threes. He's keeping non-shooting bigs on the floor together for an entire quarter even though it's not working.

All that would change with them is that instead of Brunson going 1 on 1 all the time it's going to be Randle going 1 on 1, and praying our team can get an OREB if either guy misses, while they go down the other end and hunt for mismatches (Donte) and wait for Tom to send the double.

Totally agree with this. We need to be finding ways to get guys in their best spots. We have some shooters but no one created anything to make the game easier for DiVo or Bogey, both who could shoot the lights out of the gym. I don't even think it was a consideration. Instead, we decided to kick out to burks over and over... and give precious the ball to go 1 on 1.

maybe with og back we will be able to play single coverage on tatum and won't need to double anymore

OG alone would makes light years of a difference defensively though

They’re still probably a better team they have far and away the best record in the nba but I’d at least like to see us at full strength

sure, however we were tied at one point in the 3rd qtr...there we some pretty bad coaching mistakes.

Nothing really glaring. No amount of coaching was going to win us this game.

They hunt mismatches, so they'll just go away from OG, and Tom can't resist sending a double in situations where he shouldn't. If we put OG on Brown, they'll go to Tatum and vice versa, then they will still hunt the worst defender for a switch. I don't trust Tom's coaching against a team like this with their option.

Thibs likes to put guys in their ultimate role. When Brunson sits, Deuce is the guy.
