Are we watching the same game? Brunson might have 1 good game this series but he's being guarded by 6'7 guys often with a double and if he gets past them he gets to drive into embid. he needs to stop forcing shots and start impersonating cp3 or jkidd and make quicker passes.

everyone says you cant win with small guards as your 1 in the playoffs, this is what they mean.

It's pretty hard to win when you only have one legit 1st option and he's doubled every play.

Brunson must be doing some things right.

Made a bunch of great passes to Hartenstein in that 3rd quarter specifically. We don't go on a run without that. I also think he's held up as well as we can expect him to defensively. He's not an absolute glaring black hole on that end.

He's going to figure it out eventually or the Sixers are going to keep selling out to stop him and our other guys are going to keep capitalizing.

Everyone, myself included, got spoiled by Brunson going nuts in the last 1/4 of the season. He's a 1a/1b type who needs that 2nd option against a team dedicated to scheming against him in playoffs. Ok, maybe if the Knicks had a stretch 5 it MIGHT work with Brunson being the only true 1st option.

He's still an excellent player and even better leader any team would want and Knicks are incredibly fortunate to have him, even though Philly constructing their entire defensive game plan around stopping him has thrown his game off.

Loose ball refs are trained not to call the jump ball right away in the NBA - oh and nurse wants to complain about the whistle / for a time out…refs could have called maxey for a travel as he had two hands on the ball while standing up and went down…Lots fo things could have happened lowry all over the arms and that gets overturned **** happens you can’t hope like the sixers. You will it like the knicks.

He could've easily pointed to 4 Sixers around the hoop and still letting Hartenstein get the rebound but he chooses to blame the officials.

That’s another question I have — if you call timeout but the guy doesn’t have control, does your timeout “kick in” after the guy does get control?

I think he did have control mostly but he flopped to fall and he actually did not hold it, he was trying to pass off. The player and the coach kind of have to be in sync but I’d like to read the actual rule.

We have some of the worst and most "what have you done for me lately" type of fans. Brunson is in a shooting slump - it happens! It even has happened to the very best like MJ and Kobe. Give credit to Nurse for the scheme and Oubre and Batum for defending him well but Brunson is missing a lot of shots he normally makes. Especially from down town! Brunson will be fine but he just needs to let the game come to him and not try to play hero ball the entire timel. 26 and 28 shot attempts is too much! We are not the 2001 Sixers with Iverson and a bunch of just defensive players who cannot shoot or score. But Brunson will make the adjustment and he will have monster games. Stop being so damn fickle!

no because if you look after the inbounds Nurse takes his timeout signal away thinking Maxey has the ball...then when he looses it again he tries to call it again.

The only time that would work if Nurse was continuing to signal timeout through the whole process...he was indecisive about calling a TO and put full blame on himself...he **** up the ending not the officials not granting him a TO during the scrum.

Complaining about not getting a timeout called when you didn't make any attempt to run to a ref or definitively call it is such god-tier level whining you would think it came from a toddler.

Also any one of the 5 sixers on the floor who were in the midst of chitting their pants could have ran to a ref and called one... I don't want to hear it at all. Embiid gets such a favorable whistle that it's absurd to blame the referees for anything

It was obvious Nurse was unsure what to do in that moment.

Most importantly, the Knicks weren't even playing for calls. 76ers were trying to draw a foul first and play the ball 2nd. This is a dangerous game. Everybody knows this.

You want to control you destiny as much as possible in the playoffs. Not hope that the refs make calls in your favor.

Just to add a bit more to the context that I saw.

Nurse wasn't indecisive. Nurse was watching the sideline ref's inbound count. He was preparing to call the timeout if Lowry didn't get the pass off before the 5 second violation. That's why he pulled the gesture away when the ball was inbound.
